Toy Fair 2009 – Hudy
Incorporated in the Xray stand was of course Hudy, who were showing lots of new products. The tool maker has branched out to making other racing accessories and these include a handy new pit bag, which is made from a durable cloth material and can be folded flat in a matter of seconds. Large enough to carry everything you need into the pit lane, it is super lightweight and perfect for the travelling racer. While in the pits you can wear the new Hudy apron or while in a foreign country you can use their ‘just for fun’ coin bag, a handy place to store your change while at an international event.
Also on display were the company’s range of setup system bags, one for the 1/10th and 1/12th setup, one for 1/8th on road and finally one for 1/8th buggy/truggy. This are to be filled with whatever setup tools you require but the company didnt rule out selling them with the hudy systems inside, depending on whether the demand is there.
The company also had a full range of pit bags, the large of the 2 fitted with corruagated drawers held inside a solid frame work, meaning the bag stays standing even when there are no drawers inside. The smallest version is for touring cars, while the bigger 2 are for larger scales, with the biggest looking like its able to fit a small person inside and so comes with handle and wheels to help transport it. All are supplied with a top mounted tool mount.
On to the tool side of things and moving along the cabinet the company have released some new items that a racer requires. Starting with the new range of Hudy branded brushes, there are 3 types of stiffness with each available in large or small. They have also released a new ‘StarBox’ for 1/10th and 1/8th scale on road, this thing is tiny and sports a single powerful motor and is supplied fully built.
Hudy have finally released tips for power tools, as well as a new range of micro pliers with snips, pointy nose, normal pliers and diff clip pliers included in the range. The company has also produced their own Hudy branded stop watch with 100 lap memory giving the racer another useful tool in their arsenal.
Continuing through the cabinet the new products seems endless, there is a new carbon fibre pinion caddy which will be sold seperately or with a full range of either 48 or 64 pitch pinions. There are new set up wheels for electric rubber touring cars, a quick 4 sided camber gauge for both 1/8th off road and 1/10th on road as well as a glass fibre Nitro touring car body gauge with all the most useful body measurements included, great for clubs as well as individuals.
There is a new quick tweak system that goes out to 220mm wide and can adjusted in the length so that it fits from 1/12th up to outlaw 1/10th scale. The system features the bubble measurement on both boards and can be used to quickly and easily check your cars tweak. Also in the quick checking range is a quick downstop gauge.
Finally there are some new setup systems, a universal one for 1/10th scale and 1/12th scale that features 2 seperate centre holes allow you to use the same system for both. Finally there is a new 1/1oth scale 4wd off road buggy setup system.
