SMJ Stealth Line Progressive Springs

SMJ, the company run by legendary multiple World Champion mechanic Masayuki Miura, has released its Stealth Line Progressive Springs which they are describing as a ‘New Era for GP Touring Car Racing’. At the initial stage of suspension movement, a soft, supple spring is ideal. However, in high-speed corners, a soft spring may not provide enough support under heavy loads. On the other hand, a stiffer spring designed to handle these high loads can be too stiff during the initial stage of suspension movement. Finding the ideal spring for different circuits and track conditions has always been a challenge, often requiring considerable time and effort to achieve the right setup. Our new Progressive Springs solve this problem! By combining closely wound and widely spaced coils, these springs provide different levels of support throughout the suspension travel, delivering the ideal balance between initial softness and support under heavy loads.

2026 Speed King Tour Rd5 – Report

Following the cancellation of the 4th round due to rain, the popular Japanese based Speed King Tour returned over the weekend with the fifth round at the RC Stadium Sodegaura outdoor tarmac track in Chiba prefecture. Fastest TC0 class race was not scheduled for this sto on the calendar due to most of Japanese Modified Class drivers concentrating their attentions on the IFMAR ISTC World Championships at Huge RC in Thailand on next month. With TC1 (Stock) heading the bill, it was Xray’s Rento Sasaki who took TQ after qualifying and before going on to take the first A main final but his victory was not easy. Second spot qualifier Taku Wakamatsu has been chasing Rento from start to finish but Rento didn’t make any mistakes and never gave his position to Taku then finished by 0.640 seconds. Takeshi Yoshida took third with fastest lap time in A final.

Infinity IF18-3 Lightweight Titanium Wheel Shafts

Infinity has introduced new high-grade front and rear titanium wheel shafts for their IF18-3 1:8 Onroad car. Precision machined from lightweight, high grade pure titanium, they make better use of the materials properties to deliver a smoother driving feel than the standard aluminium version offered in the kit. The surface has been anodised to give a vibrant finish. Due to the nature of the anodising process applied to the surface, there may be slight variations in the actual colour, but this does not affect the performance of the parts.

Sky RC FuriaX Maxi 1S Sensored 1:12 Competition ESC

SkyRC has introduced the new FuriaX Maxi, a compact 1S sensored brushless ESC designed specifically for competitive 1:12 racing. Delivering 100A continuous current and up to 360A peak current, the Maxi combines powerful performance with throttle and brake response adjustable from 0.1 to 3 milliseconds, allowing racers to fine-tune the feel of their cars. Advanced Boost and Turbo timing functions offer up to 64° of adjustment each, with customisable activation conditions, ramp rates and delay settings to suit different motors, tracks and driving styles. The ESC also features 10-point customisable throttle and brake curves, adjustable drag brake, multiple braking parameters and selectable Stock and Modified racing modes. Built-in wireless connectivity enables direct connection to the RC Gears app for convenient smartphone programming, real-time telemetry monitoring and storage of up to 20 ESC profiles without additional programming equipment. Further features include a selectable 6V/7.4V BEC with 3A/5A output, an integrated aluminium heatsink top cover with optional fan installation depending on motor requirements, and low-voltage, thermal and reverse-polarity protection. Measuring just 34 × 34 × 15.7mm and weighing 27.9g without wires or fan, the FuriaX Maxi packs extensive tuning capabilities into a compact package purpose-built for the demands of 1:12 racing.

Baird takes Irish title with season finale victory

Fresh from returning from the IFMAR 1:8 Nitro Buggy World Championship in Texas, Mugen Seiki driver Bradley Baird has clinched the RCCAOI Irish National Championship title. Racing at the fifth & final round of the championship on the Navan Nitro Nuts Astro surface track near the country’s capital, the multiple Irish Champion would secure the TQ after topping 4 of the 5 rounds. Taking Q3, Jason Ferguson would qualify second ahead of Paul Myles and Andrew McClean. After the Semi finals, it was Baird on pole for the 45-minute main from where he took a convincing 2-lap win over fellow Mugen Seiki racer McClean and the Xray of William White.

Wasson, Duthie, and Sanderson crowned Australian National Champions

Multiple World Championship host track John Grant International Raceway in Sydney staged the 2026 RCRA Nitro Onroad National Championships over the weekend where Anthony Wasson (GT), Luke Duthie (1:8), and Nathan Sanderson (Nitro Touring) where crowned the champions. Hosted by New South Wales Radio Controlled Racing Car Club, qualifying would see drivers run 6 rounds with the Infinity of defending 1:8 Champion Duthie going on to become Top Qualifier with 4 TQ runs from Daniel Burrows who topped Q4 & 5. In Nitro Touring, Tye Moylan took all but one qualifier to TQ ahead of Tate Firth with Sanderson securing P3 on the grid. 1:8 GT it was also the defending Champion who would start on pole, Wasson taking his Serpent to the TQ ahead of Rick Seymonsbergen and Alistair Ritchie. With 45-minute Mains, the first title to be settled was 1:8 GT with Wasson going back to back with a comfortable win over Lockie Roah and Seymonsbergen. Next up was the 1:10 final and setting the fastest lap of the race with his Infinity Sanderson came through to take the win ahead of Moylan and Firth, this the PDNR club member’s first ever RCRA title. In 1:8 New Zealander Duthie was untouchable as he claimed his first RCRA National title, his first being in 2018. Joining him on the podium would be 3rd place qualifier Scott Robinson and Last Chance Final winner Michael Tohmeh.

Kilic wins 10th Edition Reds Grand Prix

The 10th edition of the Reds Grand Prix was staged over the weekend where Mugen Seiki’s Burak Kilic took the win, the results based on qualifying after Sunday’s schedule was unable to run due to bad weather. Organised by Italian engine brand Reds Racing at the OSPY Team track in Gussao, Italy, it was factory Kyosho driver Marco Baruffolo who topped seeding from Kilic. In qualifying it was defending Champion Kilic who secured the TQ, the Turkish driver topping two of the three rounds. Fastest in the opening qualifier, factory Kyosho driver Marco Baruffolo qualified second ahead of Sworkz Elliott Boots, WIRC team driver Andrea Trevisan and the Sworkz of Mattia Pollito. With Sunday rained out, the qualifying order would be declared the result. Also taking the TQ in eBuggy and Nitro Truggy it would be a triple victory weekend for Kilic, able to run Saturday night’s Truggy Main he won the half hour race from Daniel Gronlund.

Gollner joins RC Maker

Australian Touring Car manufacturer RC Maker has announced the signing of Patrick Gollner to their race team. Having previously raced for Mugen Seiki, the European Championship finalist & multiple Austrian National Champion follows old team-mate Ronald Volker in campaigning Ryan Maker’s latest creation the SP2. On the announcement Gollner ‘I’m proud to announce that I’ll be joining RC Maker as a driver from now on! A huge thank you to Ryan for the trust and confidence in me. I truly appreciate this opportunity and am excited about what lies ahead. The quality of the car is absolutely outstanding, and the level of support I’ve already experienced has been incredible.
