Team Associated RC28R.1 Team Kit

Fresh on the heels of the first running of the Team Associated 1:28 International which took place in Las Vegas at the start of this month, Team Associated has released the latest version of their 1:28 contender, the RC28R.1 Team Kit.  The new kit gets an updated steel chassis plate and new centre bulkhead design that allows for 24mm wide battery packs and more space for mounting electronics while also reducing chassis scrub.  Also featuring a new FT carbon fibre upper arm brace, front bulkhead shim and upper arm options, offered in .5 and 1 degree camber with 2 and 4 degrees of caster.  The torsion side links (soft, medium, and hard included) replace the need for a side spring making setup easy while adding performance in areas a conventional spring does not.

Fantom Pulse 2000 Competition Capacitor Module

Texas based Fantom Racing has released the Pulse 2000 Competition Capacitor Module which is designed to help stabilise voltage and reduce electrical ripple at the ESC during demanding racing conditions.  Its compact aluminium housing, low-resistance design, and 2000µF capacity provide fast, consistent energy buffering when loads change rapidly.  Lightweight with a competition-focused design, the unit measures 25.4 mm x 18.3 mm x 7 mm and weighs 10.4 grams.

RC Xpress Pixel Z1 Brass Chassis Plate

Having entered the 1:28 racing market last month with the release if its Pixel Z1, RC Xpress has released a new optional brass chassis plate for racer struggling with traction roll on high-grip tracks.  Creating an Ultra-Low Center of Gravity, the black coat finished brass chassis adds weight to the lowest point of the chassis, significantly lower the centre of gravity.  It also provides maximum driving stability by drastically reducing the risk of traction rolling on high-bite surfaces.  Making the car easier to drive, RC Xpress say the handling is much smoother and more predictable so you can get on the throttle with confidence.

Sanwa MT5Z Transmitter

Sanwa is set to release a new version of its MT-5 mid-range transmitter, the new MT-5Z combining an all-new design with advanced functions developed for competitive driving.  With the new upcoming release revealed by Czech Sanwa distributor Mibosport, the MT-5Z’s distinctive appearance was reimagined by Mr. Nezu of znug design, winner of numerous accolades including the Good Design Gold Award and the German iF Design Award.  Mr. Nezu’s work gives the transmitter a modern and distinctive look.  The MT-5Z introduces both Motion Steering and Feeling functions to the Japanese manufacturer’s mid-range transmitter class for the first time.  Together with its advanced Racing Mode features, it provides drivers with enhanced control and a more refined driving experience.

Newly crowned World Champion Matsukura set for Singapore International Nitro GP

Having confirmed Mugen Seiki’s reigning double 1:8 Onroad World Champion Shoki Takahata earlier this month, the organisers of the Singapore International Nitro Grand Prix have now confirmed newly crowned 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World Champion Naoto Matsukura for the 20th anniversary of the race.  Like Takahata, Matsukura became a double Nitro Onroad World Champion, the first driver to achieve the accolade in 1:10, when the Infinity driver took the win in Gubbio, Italy, last Saturday.  Taking place on October 10-11, the same weekend as the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, over the last two decades of the Singapore International Nitro GP, the Radio Control Modellers’ Club’s annual international race has welcomed numerous World Champions.  2026 looks like attracting its greatest line up of World Champions yet with drivers getting to race on the track’s newly laid asphalt.

Cerberus Racing ARC Damper

Having announced a number of new cars since announcing his new brand Cerberus Racing, Josh Cyrul has been sharing some of the details of the Vektor line-up of conversion kits including their new revolutionary ARC Damper.  The first-of-its-kind spherical roll damper features a floating “vane” self-aligns for linear, wiggle-free dampening.  It significantly reduces free play during directional changes.  Offers increased ease of maintenance with two-screw mounting this enables rapid trackside tuning with pre-built dampers.  With complete isolation from bump dampening, for optimal suspension tuning, the F1 includes an aluminium casing for integrated rear wing bracket mounting

Masami Hirosaka’s Team Associated RC28R – Chassis Focus

The inaugural Team Associated 1:28 International took place in Las Vegas recently running from September 4-6th, where the category that has been enjoying huge interest saw two legends of racing, Masami Hirosaka and Atsushi Hara, travel from Japan to join the action.  While Red RC has covered many of latest car and product releases from the category’s growing number of manufacturers, we have yet to cover any of the racing in person but thanks to specialist 1:28 body shell producer Radbody we are excited to share a special Chassis Focus on the Team Associated RC28R raced by Masami in the 3500 Lipo class at the event.  With Radbody owner Joe Chen wrenching on Masami’s car, he has put together a Chassis Focus, with Team Associated providing the photos, to give an insight into the car and the set-up used by Masami.  Radbody is the official kit body supplier to Team Associated with the Mako X2 included with each RC28R kit.

Yokomo MS2.1 Electric Touring Car

Having announced the pending release of its latest competitive spec 1:10 Electric Touring Car last month with a CAD image, Yokomo has released images of the new MS2.1 kit.  The Japanese manufacturer has updated the front suspension geometry to deliver a more aggressive driving style leading to faster lap times.  With the new car you can now select the front suspension lever ratio, allowing you to fine tune your setup for all track conditions and tyre selection.  Shock components have also been meticulously refined to lower the centre of gravity, and the mounting angle has been adjusted to accommodate the longer front suspension arms, resulting in a perfectly balanced overall setup.  The motor mount and layshaft have also been updated for better tollerences and prevent spur gear failures. The screws are also updated for the 1.5mm aluminium and 1.2 steel chassis, now featuring a 2mm hex head. The Steel chassis has also been updated to the next generation.  The MS2.1 will be released simultaneously with graphite, aluminium, and steel chassis options, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your driving environment.  A conversion kit will also be released for all the current MS2.0 users to bring your car up to the current spec.
