Team Associated RC10 Custom Race Car 6×6

With box body artwork that hints at the iconic 6-wheel Tyrell F1 car, only the double wheels are at the wrong end, Team Associated has just dropped what it is calling the RC10 Custom Race Car 6×6. Clearly a variant of the previously released Custom Semitruck 6×6, this kit is definitely left field, and on announcing it AE describe this one as ‘a groundbreaking addition to our lineup that combines innovation with high-performance design.’ They add, ‘This comprehensive kit boasts a range of exceptional features, including durable gray plastic parts, a striking new 6×6 formula inspired body set, and a robust 6×6 plastic gearbox set.’ As part of the kit you also get a 6×6 diffuser set with body accessories, a sleek blue anodised aluminium chassis plate, and high-quality Factory Team ball end set. For enhanced control and precision, the kit features aluminium turnbuckles, blue anodised shocks, and a blue anodised motor plate. Completing the package are black wheels, adding both style and functionality.

Australian aftermarket parts manufacturer INOV8 has added the option for the Schumacher Mi10 to its line-up of X-Lite Adjustable Hood Supports. The X-Lite adjustable Hood Support brings a new level of function, adjustability and style. The 7075 Aluminium and Carbon Fibre construction increases stiffness and removes flex from even the fastest tracks and lightest bodies. It features adjustable height by loosening or tightening the grub screw on the top of the unit. The plastic hood cap on top prevents scratching on the body and ruining that lovely paint work!

Team Associated RC10B84.1

Taking a break from retro kit releases, Team Associated has announced its latest version of its top flight 4WD race buggy with the RC10B84.1. Highlights of the B84.1 include a Wide Tongue Chassis for improved durability and V2 Steering Posts and Bellcranks to reduce vertical movement in the steering rack. Also up front you get Molded Front Shock Tower Cover for 73mm arm Shock Tower. Along the sides of the buggy, the kit gets V2 Side Rails to account for the Wide Tongue Chassis and a 102mm Center CVA Dog Bone is included in the kit. Upper and lower chassis bracing front and rear allow fine tuning of chassis flex characteristics, giving you the flexibility to adapt to each track you race on.

Another reigning World Champ for Singapore Nitro GP as Coelho confirmed

The Singapore International Nitro GP will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in style with the announcement of its 3rd reigning World Champion as Bruno Coelho is confirmed for the October 10-11 event. The 3-time back to back IFMAR 1:10 Electric Touring Car World Champion made his SINGP last year, returning to his roots to race nitro onroad, the category in which the Portuguese star learned his trade before his break through moment at the 2014 ISTC Worlds in the USA. With Mugen Seiki’s 1:8 Onroad World Champion Shoki Takahata and Infinity’s newly crowned 1:10 Nitro Touring Car World Champion Naoto Matsukura already confirmed, Coelho might just need a few extra laps to settle into the newly resurfaced Radio Control Modellers’ Club’s track as he will come straight from having just raced for a week at the IFMAR 1:8 Nitro Buggy World Championship in Texas which gets underway in just a few days.

JConcepts BK Design 13mm Shock Pistons

A project from Brian Kimwald himself, BK Design Shock Pistons are now available as an option for 13mm shocks through JConcepts. The BK piston, machined in low friction Delrin material has opened a can of goodness racers have only heard about, until now. The prototype slotted piston, machined by BK using equipment purchased exclusively for the master of all RC trades, was for sure a late-night project. During 2016, finding grip with newly released mid-motor vehicles was a vicious hunt for low-traction dirt conditions. As track conditions advanced, finding grip wasn’t necessarily as high a priority, hence the delay in the BK piston introduction. However, as the hands of time move forward, vehicles are once again looking for an edge in grip handling due to their advanced corning abilities. The all-precision machined item has the makings of the latest winner from the JConcepts Speed Laboratory and can be tuned by the user. The latest BK pistons arrive with plenty of pre-drilled combinations. Test drivers have reported increased vehicle grip while utilising the exclusive design. The BK channel in the piston increases the volume of oil in the shock body acting as another chamber in the shock body to add consistency to the mechanism. During compression and rebound, a lot of disturbance is created inside the working area of the shock. The action of a traditional piston is very top to bottom with pass-through only allowed through dedicated holes and around the perimeter due to blow-by. With this design, the piston is passing fluid through 2 separate channeled sections while the entire disturbance area rests in oil which helps compartmentalise all activity.

Corsatec engines for Kobbevik

Corsatec, the engine brand headed by Adrien Bertin, has announced the signing of Norwegian Offroad talent Daniel Kobbevik ahead of the upcoming IFMAR 1:8 Nitro Buggy World Championship in Texas. The factory Schumacher driver, who finally claimed his first European title when he became the EFRA 1:10 4WD Offroad European Champion in Austria during the Summer, has had a limited nitro program but has travelled to France to get some finally mileage in ahead of the trip to the Thornhill Racing Circuit. Announcing their newest team member on social media, Corsatec posted, ‘A new chapter begins. We’re proud to welcome Daniel Kobbevik to the Corsatec family, joining us for his new challenge in Nitro. And there’s no better place to start: Daniel will make his first race with Corsatec at the World Championship. A new driver. A new challenge. And the biggest stage to begin.
