Serpent Viper 989E 1/8th scale EP chassis

Serpent have released their new Viper 989E, the latest electric version of their 989 1/8th scale chassis. Electric racing has developed big time and the 989E is designed to take care of that power and put it down as effectively as possible. Based on the successful 989 gas racer and sharing it’s suspension, shocks and quite a lot of other features like the chassis plate and drivetrain, there are many EP specific parts on this car as well. They have made room for serious power with the batteries mounted on a 2.5mm thick carbon plate, the variety of packs can be mounted in 3 different positions, changing the CG to alter the cars behaviour. The elevated speedo mounting plate gives stiffness for the battery plates and creates also room for oversized speedos with even 1/5th scale speedos possible. A large range of motors can also be accommodated and the area around the motor has been stiffened to remove any unwanted flex. Other features include a wider 10mm rear belt and module 1 steel gears for durable power delivery.

Axial 1/10 scale RBX10 Ryft 4WD

Axial have introduced another first with the 1/10 scale RBX10 Ryft 4WD. This ready-to-run vehicle lets any RC driver experience the thrills of rock bouncer off-road action. Full-size rock bouncers refuse to stop, or even back down on the throttle, when facing steep climbs and massive rocks. So does the RBX10 Ryft 4WD. The robust, custom tube chassis is engineered from a high-strength composite plastic that withstands the hard knocks of RC off-roading, even while moving at the high speeds produced by a strong powertrain featuring a 4S-capable, 2200Kv brushless motor. Both the front and rear axles boast a rugged two-piece, solid axle design. Licensed Interco TSL Bogger tires on Raceline wheels, aided by long travel front and rear shocks, do their part to tame wild off-road tracks. These features, along with a full-time 4WD transmission, make the RBX10 Ryft a fun vehicle to send over the trails at full throttle.

Kyosho announce Inferno MP10 TKI2

Kyosho have announced the latest version of their race winning Inferno line of 1/8th buggies with the release of the MP10 TKI2. The most visible change is a newly designed body that takes the high-level aerodynamic characteristics of the MP10 body in a more aggressive direction. The feeling of lightness through the corners is enhanced, which greatly contributes to faster lap times, especially on more technical circuits. Revised gearing results in changes to the number of teeth of the differential gear and bevel gear to reduce the secondary reduction ratio from the MP10’s 3.31:1 to the TKI2’s 3.5:1. This delivers improved acceleration characteristics and response to the driver’s throttle inputs for superior manoeuvrability. With changes to the secondary reduction ratio, the standard 46T spur gear in the MP10 kit has been changed to 45T. The final reduction ratio is 12.1:1, which places a greater emphasis on acceleration and achieves improved pickup. The front and rear shocks are 3mm longer than the standard MP10 with 4mm longer front shafts and 3mm longer rear shafts. Springs have been lengthened accordingly. Front length of 78 mm and the rear length of 95 mm provide superior shock absorption through the full suspension stroke.
