Infinity IF14-2 touring car kit

Following a couple of teasers Infinity have finally unveiled their new IF14-2 electric 4WD touring car kit. Building on the IF14 the second incarnation will feature a new drivetrain layout that sees the spur gear being moved to the front of the motor, as the latter remained in the same position as on the IF14. The layout was choses to create a balanced driving feeling, on and off throttle, and to enable the car to run at a constant speed throughout the race. Newly designed suspension arms have a new system incorporated, which makes it possible to fine-tune the shock lever ratio. The new system – that uses inserts for the shock tower and lower arms – coupled with the newly designed shock towers, make it possible to change the shock lever ratio without changing the shock mounting angle. In this way, by changing the shock lever ratio, drivers can change the spring rate, which subtly affects tyre performance, without changing shock springs. With the IF14, when changing the mounting width of suspension arms, and the mounting angle of the shock also changed. With the IF14-II, however, setup is much simpler. Drivers can now adjust the suspension geometry without changing the mounting angle of the shock.
