Xray XB8‘22 & XB8E’22 1/8th buggy

Xray have released details on their updated for 2022, XB8 and XBE 1/8th buggy platforms. Featuring only minor updates, there is an updated rear wing mount and wing that places the wing further forward to increase downforce over the rear wheels and thus increase traction. There is also a new rear carbon shock tower it also claims to improve rear traction. Other small updates include harder material being used in the rear uprights and front steering blocks and the central CVDs are now fitted with a 5mm set screw instead of the previously used 4mm. The XB8E has also had the steering servo carbon mounting plate beefed up with more material along its edges.

JConcepts Sprinter 2.2” buggy tires in Aqua compound

JConcepts have announced that their new Sprinter 2.2” buggy tires are now available in their A2 Aqua compound. Designed to bridge a gap between the popular Double Dees and other pin tire options from JConcepts, the tread features square, angled pins that are stacked vertically to flex and fold evenly across the tire. Typically, a stacked tread will wear less and provide more forward bite while the aligned space helps rotation in the turns and gives a snappy release to square up quickly. Starting with the new tread, the team focused on durability and performance to bring a rear tire option to market that competes on loose surfaces which are wet or dusty. With the popularity of dirt-oval racing, vehicles being designed with either mid-motor or laydown transmission options, a new generation pin style, carcass and outer tread design was needed.

Allows for optional mounting of SkyRC GNSS gps modules safely protected inside of the foam bumper and can be simply removed via 1 screw from the carbon hold in brace. Details include a heavy duty alloy and carbon fibre mounting base that secures the extra wide high density foam bumper. The same high impact foam used in touring car racing. Inside the foam bumper are 2 alloy posts for extra secure foam bumper mounting. The carbon plate has 3 hole positions for mounting the foam forward or back to fit in certain bodies. This design also allows you to experiment with adding nylon body posts onto the bumper or perhaps a lexan body lip (splitter) on the under side of the bumper. Designed to work with most street eliminator bodies.

T-Works YZ2 DTM3.1 steel chassis skid protectors

T-Works have release more of their stainless steel chassis skid protector sets, this time for the Yokomo YZ2 DTM3.1 buggy. The skid plates will provide additional chassis protection in the rear of the car, something that comes in handy especially when running on highly abrasive surfaces or on track with large jumps. The protector plates are made of high-quality stainless steel material for durability and corrosion resistance and come in a set of two.

JConcepts 9 shot SCT 12mm hex wheels

JConcepts ups the ante in in the wheel department and provides a new style for 1/10th SCT off-road and dirt oval racers. The 9 shot is 1:1 inspired to provide the ultimate performance to off-road racing vehicles around the world. The 9 spoke design, 2.2” x 3.0” mounting diameter, 12mm hex base design fits a huge assortment of vehicles competing in the market such as the Team Associated SC6 genre. The 9 shot features a deep 3D depth spoke with mock 5 lug bolt pattern to bring SCT trucks, SCT Late Model, A-Mod and B-Mod vehicles to another level of scale inspiration on the racing scene. The JConcepts replacement wheels are available 2 pieces per package and available in white, black, and yellow colour styles. The 9 shot wheels are the maximum size allowed under ROAR rules and make a statement with their large, open spoke appearance, slight concave dish shaped design and superior inner rib design. The wheels incorporate an outer glue catch that resists excess glue from running down the wheel face during the gluing process. Ninja JX21-B06 LE Black engine

Mugen have introduced this limited edition black version of their popular Ninja JX21-B06 engine. Available in very limited quantities it is also available as a set that includes the Flash Point FP2500a muffler set. The output characteristics of the muffler offers better response across the entire range, with power in the medium-high speed range increased. As a further option you can also purchase the engine already run-in.

Avid 2S Charge lead cables

Avid have announced the release of their new 2S charge lead cables with XT60 to 4/5mm bullet connectors. Designed to be colour coordinated (e.g. red uses all red wires and sheath) for charging 2S battery packs through 12 gauge wire. Includes an XT60 plug on the charger end and gold-plated 4mm to 5mm bullets on the battery end to cover all battery types. Comes with the popular XH 3pin balance plug, which most trim one of the plastic alignment rails with an X-acto to plug right into the charger instead of the balance port. Or you can use the included XH 7pin if you don’t want to brave that. Balance leads are 2.5″ (63.5mm) longer than the charge leads so they can easily be plugged into any charger design.
