Entry is now closed and the race will have 67 drivers in F1 class, 91 drivers in F2 class, 25 drivers in truggy class and 33 drivers in the new electric 1/8 brushless class. From the first ring, every 2 minutes the bell will sound again and this will go on until there are 3 drivers left and these will battle it out in a straight race to the finish line to be crowned the Race of Champions winner. Red RC will present throughout the entire event reporting live from the track and you can follow the coverage from the 20th till the 22nd of November.

Ryan Cavalieri wins big at Nitrocross World Finals

The 2009 NitroCross World Finals was once again held at ‘The Nitro Pit’ in Wittman, Arizona. There would be two heats of 15 drivers for the Invitational Classes. The first heat race consisted of 20 laps and the top 4 drivers in each heat would transfer directly to the A-Main. The Semi’s would be run later in the day for those drivers that didnt transfer and would also be a 20 lap race. The top 3 drivers in each heat would then transfer to the A-Main. At the end of the day was the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) where both heats of the remaining drivers would be put together for a 15 lap race. The Invitational Truggy Main Event would be run first. At the start of the tone, Ryan Cavalieri got a great start and was up to 3rd by the end of the first lap. Cavalieri then began to put in fast lap after lap to catch up to the leaders. At the halfway point in the race, RC was now leading and beginning to put some distance on the rest of the field. Cavalieri crossed the finish line first to take home his first win of the weekend and $5,000.00. The last race of the day was the Invitational Buggy Main Event. Cavalieri then took over the lead and a few laps later and drove away from the field. With a few laps to go in the race, RC then put it on cruise control to take the win and another $5,000.00.
