Team Associated RC10B6.4 Team Kit

Team Associated’s RC10B6.4 platform continues the trend of offering two kit configurations. Both kits include the next generation 13mm diameter big-bore shocks and springs to provide the ultimate in damping and stability. The larger diameter shocks reduce pressure inside the shock and minimise the effects of the shaft displacement. This allows the buggy to feel like it’s riding on an invisible cloud when you hit harsh jumps and landings. The chassis, front end, and steering system is optimised for running reduced caster and kickup, which excels on high speed, high grip surfaces. An updated steering system with adjustable height bellcranks helps racers minimise bumpsteer. In addition, the front suspension is equipped with new -1mm kingpin offset steering and caster blocks for smooth and predictable front end feel through the entire throw. The -1mm design pushes the steering pivot closer the centre of the front tire, keeping the front end flat through the entire steering throw.

JConcepts Landmines pre-mounted for Traxxas UDR

JConcepts now offer their Landmines performance scale tire for the Traxxas UDR. Available pre-mounted on the new Tremor Traxxas UDR front & rear wheel, which is also available seperately, the design starts with a robust carcass carefully shaped and sized for a multitude of conditions and capable of bashing those difficult courses while being down-to-earth enough to carry a scale appearance. The team spent considerable time with the split-block center design which has been sliced, stepped, and recessed for flexibility and contortion over sharp, loose, and polished surfaces. The Landmines have alternating solid and cavity pads which is ideal for transitioning from smooth dirt or pavement into dirt, mud, and rocky terrain. Moving toward the edges of the carcass, the tire has horizonal grippy pads with edge and channels to provide additional forward bite. Down within the tread, a lightning pattern, knob plots and connector bars pull the design together to work together at shallow and deep sinking positions. Once power is applied to the vehicle, the tread spacing opens which allows for deep digging, making it a great working tire in dirt and muddy conditions. As the tread rolls down the sidewall, a whole new course of tread and side-lugging is applied. A grippy radial ring provides a consistent rubber contact patch in high-speed conditions while in the vertical plane, new traction bars alternate between angular and island mapping for additional grip.

Ulimate MXS Ceramic engine

Ultimate Racing have introduced the follow up to the successful M3X engine with the release of their new 3 port .21 Off-Road Ultimate MXS Ceramic Competition Engine. Like its predecessor, the MXS is made by O.S. Engines and it’s based on their square stroke Speed B21 Ty Tessmann II edition engine but has some modifications on the crankshaft as well as on the back plate to improve performance. This engine has more power and returns to idle way better than its predecessor. The cooling head has been redesigned and while not as low as the B2102 lower profile, it is lighter so it keeps the center of gravity as low as the B2102 but improving its performance on high temperatures. The backplate has been updated to improve the gas flow going to the piston and improving engine efficiency and performance. The crankshaft of the MXS is an evolution of the DLC B2102 but with two balanced tungsten in order to increase the inertia to rotation. Also available as Team Edition and combo with the EFRA 2141 or 2142 pipes.

Kaerup & Orlwoski win EOS Season #10 opener

After a couple of years of disruption caused by the pandemic, the Euro Offroad Series reignited in an epic way to provide some of the closest and most high-paced 1/10th Offroad racing Europe has seen in a very long time. The first of five race meetings planned for the tenth edition of the Euro Offroad Series (EOS) was hosted by a new club – ORC-B – in Göttingen, Germany on April 1st to 3rd 2022. Located on a former indoor football pitch, the permanent track looked small and tight in the pre-event social media posts, but it was larger in the flesh than expected and proved to be a very good battle ground for extremely tight racing with few overtaking opportunities. The artificial grass circuit was quite “3D” and had a very good range of jump styles including an undulating back straight which was elevated nearly a metre above ground level. Many of the drivers who initially thought the track was too small and too tight later reported that the track flowed extremely well and had a great range of features, and, in fact, it was quite adequate for an EOS event – lots of happy racers.

JConcepts 1/10th off-road & dirt oval ReHab tires

Fresh out of the development lab at JConcepts, the ReHab tires are the latest tire for 1/10th buggy racing. Based on its larger cousin, the Detox, the ReHab tire brings all the details of a successful tire into a smaller tread package for smoother track conditions, consistent racing and high-end performance for dirt off-road and oval racing. The design revolves around the centre structure which has medium sized, dense lugs arranged in a horizontal configuration. The lugs have strategically placed cuts and grooves to allow flex in dusty conditions to perform even if the track is deteriorating. The outer portion of the tread fits together like building blocks, with shapes placed together that nest well but also work together to flex laterally to provide steadfast side-bite. The tread tapers off cleanly to the outer sidewall giving a smooth transition during hard cornering. JConcepts tires include the latest insert for a variety of conditions on the circuit including dirt oval racing and are available for the 2.2″ rear as well as 2.2″ and 4wd front and in blue, green and aqua A2 compounds.

Avid carbon camber gauges

The Avid carbon camber gauge is an easy way to check your vehicle’s camber. The fixed settings make it so that you don’t have to set your gauge for what you are looking for and the notched cutouts allow you to get the gauge dead centre of the tire for the most accurate reading. The 1/10th scale gauge features 0.5°, 1.0° and 1.5° settings, while the 1/8th scale version sports 1.0°, 2.0° and 3.0° settings.

Kobbevik doubles Norwegian Indoor Offroad Nats

The Norwegian EP Offroad Nationals were held this past weekend at the KayArena carpet track in Siggerud. The 2wd portion was run with four qualifiers and Daniel Kobbevik TQ’d all four with his Sunpadow/Hobbywing powered Schumacher LD2. Helge Johannesen and Eirik Andressen complete the top three on the grid. Daniel won A1 easily with Eirik Andreassen with his Yokomo second and Alexander Gjemble with his Schumacher third. In A2 Daniel had huge lead, but 1:45 before the finish, the right front wheel came off, and at same time earlier in the final Alexander and Eirik had a hard wheel to wheel battle and they came into each other, meaning they both missed the loop, so they lost one lap. That left them fighting for second and third. And with Daniel out of race as well, it was a total shake up with the ranking after A2. It ended with Vincent Rüger in front of Peter Strein and Helge Johannesen and so A3 was going to be exciting. A3 started, and Daniel went away right away leaving behind the fight for second and third was strong. It ended it was Eirik in front of Alexander, but with his win in A2, Rüger took the final overall podium spot.
