PSM Racing Hyper 9 Brake disc

PSM Racing have created this new epoxy material brake disc for the Hobao Hyper 9. Made from high grade 4mm thick fibre glass (epoxy), it is lightweight and heat resistant and claims to provide better brake performance. A direct replacement for the standard brake disc, it is recommended to use blank brake pads with these new discs.

Hudy have announced the release of this flywheel holder/wheel nut tool for 1/8 off-road buggy & truggy. CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium, the lightweight design ensures the tool is super light while still ergonomic for comfortable holding and maximum grip. The tool is hard coated and additionally black coated using the world’s most modern fully-automatic, robot-operated hard coating line to ensure the highest quality. The Flywheel Holder works with all modern RC nitro car flywheels with 2, 3, and 4-pin designs, while the other side of the tool was specially developed to work on 17mm wheel nuts in dirty and abusive conditions.

Following from the earlier release of new shock towers for their MBX-6T, Mugen Seiki have released some new shock springs for both the MBX-6 and MBX-6T. The new rear springs add two more options to the current range of springs, with the new springs harder than previous versions, featuring 9.75 and 9.5 turns.

New from German 1:5 Scale Off-Road manufacturer Hörmann Tuning are several option parts for the popular HoBao Hyper 9 buggy. The Shock Towers, Front Upper Plate, Diff Housing Plate as well as the Center Brace Plate are a direct fit and all of the parts are machined from high quality 4mm carbon fibre and offer a significant weight loss over their aluminium counterparts. Also new is the aluminium rear lower arm Holder for the Hyper 9 which eliminates the use of the Rear Bumper and therefore is also a lightweight but durable improvement to the car.

Mugen Seiki MBX-6 Alu Shock towers

Mugen Seiki have released new optional shock towers for their MBX-6T truggy chassis. Replacing the original carbon fibre parts, these aluminium version are much stronger but also slightly heavier. Machined down to help reduce the weight as much as possible, they are better resistant to heavy and awkward landings. Available for the front and rear of the car.

JConcepts work their Illuzion magic on the Losi 8ight-E 2.0, with the release of this newHi-Flow body. Special consideration have been made to the batteries, side guards, battery box and extra clearance around the motor and electrical. The Illuzion body is a drop fit and requires no hassles when installing or removing the body. In addition, JConcepts has taken the frustration out of the stock body design and has eliminated the front nose piece for extra durability and functionality around the front body mount.

Horizon Off road Shootout - Announcement

Entries are now being accepted for what is quickly becoming one of the hottest nitro races of the year, the 2009 Horizon Shootout. This all 1/8 scale event will be held on the weekend of September 25-27th at one of the Midwest’s premier facilities, J-Tec Racing & Fun in Tilton IL. Many of the Nations top drivers will be in attendance including 2008 Shootout Champions Adam Drake, Billy Fischer and electric ace Dakotah Phend. It will be a tough task for these drivers to repeat in 2009 as the list of challengers is sure to grow in numbers and skill. The race will feature the world’s premier race announcer Scotty Ernst, who will be on hand to call all of the racing action. Classes for 2009 Shootout include 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Nitro Truggy, and new for 2009, the addition of an 1/8 Electric Buggy class. The Schedule will see Friday as an open practice day with the first of 3 rounds of qualifying starting at 10am on Saturday morning. Sunday will be reserved for mains only in an effort to get everyone on the road and home at a decent time. Entries will be limited to 200 and are expected to fill up fast.
