B-A Arnaldi wins Rd4 French 1/10th 200mm Nationals

B-A Arnaldi wins Rd4 French 1/10th 200mm Nationals

The 4th round of the French 1/10th 200mm Nationals was held on the weekend on the very nice Longvic racing facility run by the Mini Racing Car Longvicien club. Qualifying for the Elite class saw the pole position taken by Mugen racer Renaud Monin with, round 3 winner, B-A Arnaldi close behind in 2nd and Xray racer Basile Concialdi in 3rd. After the start of the final it is apparent that Serpent racer Chaussard is the only person running 6 minute pit stops and because of this he is able to keep with the lead battle of Arnaldi and Concialdi. Following the last stop Chaussard takes the lead but shortly after makes a small mistake which loses him the lead but still remains in the battle. Coming up to the end of the race and there is still everything to play for and so the top 3 continue to battle to the end, eventually all 3 cross the line together, 7 tenths of a seconds seperating the 3 after 30 minutes. Arnaldi took the win from Concialdi in 2nd and Chaussard in 3rd.

The National class was won by pole man, Kyosho racer, Joeffrey Defie by a lap from Frédéric Blanchard racing a Mugen, while 3rd place went to another Mugen, that of Aurélien Gouriau.

Pesenti takes Rd3 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Pesenti takes Rd3 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the Swiss 1/8th scale Championship take place on the Sitterdorf track and our man Mattia Pesenti was once again in top form with his Novarossi powered Motonica and he has provided us with this report.

On Saturday morning the sun was shining, and it was about 25 degrees. This track is quite fast and so it is very difficult to do the 5 minutes. In the controlled practice I crashed my car at the end of the straight but for the first round of qualifying it was ready to win. Just before the first round we saw some black clouds coming…so we had to finish this round without mistake.

Issues for John Ermen before, and just after the start, ended his challenge, while Rick could just pull away at the front, making a tire stop half way in to the race on his way to the win ahead of Serpent racer Danny Leewis in 2nd and Motonica race Daniel v/d Drift in 3rd. The Nomac class saw a close, race long, battle between young drivers Miguel Hereijgers and René van Dijk, with Miguel taking the top spot in the closing stages of the race thanks to a different tire strategy, Arco Wijnen came home 3rd.

Mark Green wins BRCA 200mm Rd4

The fourth round of the BRCA 200mm National Championships was run this weekend by the Cotswold Model car club on their track in Gloucestershire. Qualifying saw top Team Magic man, and round 3 winner, Darren Johnson take the top qualifying spot ahead of Serpent ace Mark Green in 2nd. At the start of the Main final Mark was knocked off the track and bumped to the back of the field as Darren pushed away at the front followed by a closing Robin Hammet driving his Xray NT1, who eventually took the lead only to drop back at the mid point of the race. All this time, the pairing of Mark Green and NT1 racer Ben Cosgrove were closing in to Johnson and eventually took over at the front when Darren had a flame out during his pitstop, but the Team Magic race fought back to take 2nd where he finished behind winner Mark Green with Ben Cosgrove behind in 3rd.
