The crowd were treat to and exciting final nonetheless as Jack Hirst slowly hunted down James Helliwell for the full five minutes. …managed to fight back to take fourth after a late race dice with Mark Stiles. Sunday saw the 6.5 Modified class on track, and once again it was Alexander who headed qualifying. In the Modified class Alexander looked to be noticeably faster than his competitors. This time the Xray driver claimed pole from David Spashett by just under four seconds. Once again Adam Catchpole was third on the grid. …the event as some pre national practice ahead of next week’s Eastbourne National and he dominated all the three rounds of qualifying taking pole for the A-final ahead of Jimmy Maddison and Paul Ash. …Skidmore, Darren was quicker but not by much as the young charger hung on to the back of Darren and allowed him no rest. A late race mistake from Jonny as he pushed hard for the win dropped him back a little and this allowed Darren to go through to take the win and with it secure the overall Championship with 1 round remaining. Jonny finished 2nd and he has all but secured 2nd overall in the Championship with yet another podium finish. The final round of the series will be held at Slough in August. …each round producing new lap records and at the end TQ holder Chiu Sin On proved that he was the man to beat as he came out successful in the 45-minutes A-final, taking vital championship points. Hung Cheung Hung, an A-main finalist at the 2012 IFMAR 1/10 Nitro Touring Car championship, came out from his retirement and fought for a well deserved 2nd place. …and applied extreme pressure, but Hinz didn’t crack. Soon, it was a three horse race with Hinz leading, Rivkin 2nd and Alex Kosciuszek in 3rd. The order would remain the same until the very last lap. With the pressure on, Hinz would land the triple and turn in a bit early getting hung on the pipe. Last weekend the Team C Cup was held at the TRC track in Hong Kong in several 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road classes. In the premier class of 1/8th nitro on-road is was Simon Kurzbuch who dominated the event. In qualifying he took a convincing TQ in front of Luk Chi Hung and Senna.
