Matsukura hosts 1st Naoto Cup

It is nice to see one of the great drivers of RC racing Naoto Matsukura giving back to the sport that has served him well by hosting the 1st Naoto Cup in his native country of Japan over the weekend.  The multiple 1:12 World Champion and both Electric & Nitro Touring Car World Champion, held the race at New Next Rush Circuit in Chiba Prefecture, where he was joined by his mentor and legend of the sport Masami Hirosaka.  Masami was instrumental in bringing a very young Naoto onto the international stage as a Yokomo driver.  The first of hopefully many Naoto Cup events for years to come, after attending Naoto Cup the 14 time World Champion paid tribute to the now factory Infinity driver.

JConcepts RC8B4 front wing

JConcepts has added this new front wing to its bodies & accessories line-up.  A direct fit for Team Associated’s RC8B4 1:8 chassis, the front scoop replaces the front nosecone on the buggy with a front wing design that has shown to produce enhanced steering characteristics.  The front scoop includes 2 pieces per package, so a driver has enough to outfit their nitro and e-buggy with the same package.  The front scoop can be painted, left clear or frosted for the desired look, fit and finish.

Xray X4F Graphite Upper Decks

Xray has released a new top deck for its X4F 1:10 Electric Touring Car. The split (2 piece) top deck is recommended mainly for asphalt tracks. The top deck features milled holes for special tweak-free top deck screws. The top deck offers more steering response, and more on power steering. The flex characteristic is different than the kit top deck, and the 2 pieces allows for more flex options, which can be adjusted individually between the front and rear.  Machined from 2.0mm graphite material, the shape of the top deck has been specifically designed to achieve maximum traction and great steering characteristics at the same time.

Schumacher CAT L1R

Iconic British brand Schumacher has released a new 1:10 4WD Competition Off Road buggy, the CAT L1R. The new kit brings all the latest developments from the Schumacher international racing team, to make another sensational 4WD buggy.  The L1R features improved suspension geometry, lighter weight, better durability, and a new JConcepts bodyshell.  The L1 series of buggies have already won the European EOS championship, British BRCA national championship, and the USA ROAR carpet nationals.  In prototype form, the CAT L1R has recently achieved some great results including the 2022 British National Championship title, the German National title 2022 along with title success at the Florida Carpet Championship and US Carpet Off Road Championship.

VP Pro B74.2 CB-4002 body

VP Pro has released a new 1:10 Buggy body for Team Associated’s RC10B74.2 & B74.2D 4WD chassis.  The CB-4002 design gives a balanced and stable drive with the improved design also increasing performance in low traction conditions.  The body is moulded from high-quality 0.6mm polycarbonate and precision laser-cut to fit.  Each body comes packaged will come with window masks.

Mugen Seiki 2023 Zip Hoodie

Mugen Seiki has unveiled a new full zip hoodie for the 2023 season.  Made from 100% cotton, the hoodie features a large white Mugen Seiki logo on the ‘cement’ base colour with a smaller version of the logo repeated on the front.  Available in M, L, XL, XXL, the hoodie will go on sale later this month so probably not going to make it in time as a last minute Christmas present!

SMJ Kabuto R21 Onroad Engine

Japanese brand SMJ has released a new 1:8 Onroad engine, the Kabuto R21.  The new Kabuto R21 engine has undergone a detailed review and evolution.  While maintaining the smooth and easy-to-use characteristics of the previous Kabuto R21 engine, the improved crankshaft delivers more torque in the mid- and low-speed range along with better idling performance, resulting in stable and easy-to-use performance even during long race races.  The lightweight outer head, with its superior cooling performance, features a special graphic design. There is also the option to order the Japanese made engine pre-broken in by “YURUGIX”, a pioneer of pre-broken-in engines that has earned the trust of top drivers.
