Kyosho Perfex EX-5UR transmitter

Kyosho Perfex EX-5UR transmitter

A perfect upgrade for the Mini Z and dNaNo enthusiast, Kyosho have announced the Perfex EX-5UR transmitter. Essentially the same model released by KO Propo, the EX-5UR utilizes Kyosho’s dedicated ASF 2.4Ghz technology, meaning that all 2.4Ghz Mini Z owners will only have to bind and race. The ergonomic feel coupled with a stylish look sets this radio apart from most other transmitters currently on the market. Technically the EX-5UR features seven model memory with a LCD display panel to clearly displays all adjustments. Available in September.

Peter Harder wins Rd2 in Denmark

Peter Harder wins Rd2 in Denmark

This weekend saw the second round of the Danish 1/8th off road Nationals take place at the tight and technical SOS track, south of Copenhagen. The weather forecast showed a lot of rain, but qualification was dry and due to a new and tight time schedule, that saw a 30 minutes final instead of the normal 45 minute one, it could have been worse. When the final stopped more heavy rain started. In the final Peter Harder picked up where he left off in round 1 by taking the win with his Novarossi powered Xray ahead of Martin Hansen for Kyosho in 2nd and Tim Culmsee with a HongNor in 3rd.

Rain stops play at Worlds Warm-up

Rain stops play at Worlds Warm-up

The Worlds warm-up race took place last weekend in Burgdorf, home to this year’s 1/10th ISTC and 1/12th IFMAR World Championships. Entries were low, but there were a lot of Japanese drivers in attendance including ETS Rd5 winner Atsushi Hara, Shin Adachi and a large team from Yokomo including Hayato Matsuzaki. Qualifying went the way of Ronald Volker, the runner up at the last Worlds in Thailand, winning 4 of the 6 rounds of qualifying to start ahead of team mate Hayato Matsuzaki, who won the other 2 rounds. Jilles Groskamp, Andy Moore, Alexander Hagberg, Takehiro Yamauchi, Shin Adachi, Atsushi Hara, Christopher Krapp and Freddy Sudhoff completed the A-finalists. Sunday’s finals day was a complete wash out, raining all day which meant that almost no drivers ventured onto the track. In the A-main Alexander Hagberg was the only person to go on track and so claimed the ‘victory’, based on the qualifying order Volker took 2nd and Matsuzaki was gifted 3rd. Full results can be found here.
