On the Grapevine – Mulheim Karlich & St Louis

…far the easiest one I have had to write yet for the series. In addition to buzz created by Hara racing on carpet for the first time since 2011, Round 2 of the ETS in Muelheim-Kaerlich would also draw an air of excitement among competitors due to the fact that the series’ 35th race would be its biggest yet. Hanging banners on Thursday evening I noticed that track building seemed to be a new spectator sport as a large number of the record 320 individual drivers (361 entries) hung out in the hall ahead of the race. A man with…

JConcepts RC10 Classic Detonator body

With the return of Team Associated’s RC10 Classic JConcepts introduce the Detonator body shell. The spirit of the Detonator lives in the 1980’s, starting with the rear biased, over rear tower, hung cab, large window detail and roll-bar treatment outlining the stout individual pillars. The side-pods are simple, yet effectively cover the aluminium tub chassis and multiple side windows, including the vintage back window, stand out as class leading details. Included in each Detonator package is a 5.5” wing that is designed to sit flat on the geometry of the body and sits down and hugs the back of the…

Maifield wins big at Summer Indoor Nationals

…As luck would have it, it turned out to be a great race with Ryan Maifield taking the early lead. Ryan looked smooth and calculated in the early minutes handling the somewhat bumpy surface with precision. Steven Hartson emerged into 2nd place while 3rd was completely up for grabs. Maifield stretched the lead, turning an ultra fast lap of 17.00 during the first several minutes, he was solidly in control. All of a sudden, Maifield made an uncharacteristic mistake and hung it on a 180 degree turn allowing Hartson to move all the way back to the bumper of Maifield….
