The 2013 Hong Kong Novarossi Cup took place at the TRC track and it was KM Racing driver Hung Cheung Hang who took the pole position in both the 1/8th and the 1/10th 200mm on-road classes. Come the A mains, TQ Hung secured the win one lap ahead of second placed Ng Kwok Fai with his KM K8 prototype car in the 1/8th class and some six laps in front of his second placed KM team mate Leung Chun Wai in the 1/10th 200mm class. The second KM World Cup race in Japan attracted some 100 driver to race in the nitro 1/10th and 1/8th classes. The 200mm category saw Meen V. taking TQ in front of Keisuke Fukuda and Hung Cheung Hang. Come the start of the final Meen took off and never looked back taking the win some six seconds ahead of Keisuke. …the dirty infield, I then couldn’t get the car turned in to the next corner so Ari and Craig got past. Ari was leading for a few laps and pulling away while I was trying to pass Craig until in a turn of bad luck his body became hung up on the rear tyre at the first corner without even touching a curb. …and the track was dry and the traction was pretty good. Steven Weiss with his T.O.P. Racing Photon EX was the quickest in the last controlled practice round 6 seconds in front of Derek Hung. Steven led the first round of qualification, behind him was Derek Hung and EJ Evans however Steven lost 4 seconds in the last minute and Derek Hung won this round by a second in front of Steven with EJ in third. The KM World Cup final selection race was held at TRC Race track in Hong Kong and attracted all the top KM drivers from around Asia competing for one of the 3 sponsored trips to the KM World Cup in Thailand in October. Qualifying went the way of Thai driver Meen V driving the KM H-K1 but it was Hang who took the fastest lap of the race with a 19.421 second lap. The fifth round of the KM World Cup Hong Kong selection race took place last weekend at the HK-based ACO track. KM H-K1 driver Nicolas Lee from Singapore dominated the qualifiers and took TQ in front of Dirty Tiger and Hung Cheung Hang, both also piloting H-K1 chassis.
