The 3rd round of the 2012 KM World Cup selection series for Hong Kong and Macau was held last weekend. KM Racing driver Hung Cheung Hang raced only the first qualifier making 32 laps. He didn’t race the 2nd and 3rd qualifier as he needed to help his team mate to setup his car. After 3 rounds Hang was still TQ with the 2nd qualifier only making 30 laps. With fresh tyres Kurzbuch started to catch up and took over the lead again two minutes before the end crossing the finishing line in first position. In the 1/10 GP class, it was young talented Serpent driver Huang, Yi Hau who again showed his dominant pace to take his third straight win from pole position. Behind Huang it was Lin Ming Hui and Chen Chi Hung completed the podium. KM got in touch to tell us about their recent success at the 2011 JMRCA Kanto Middle Japan championship. Yuichi Adachi (KM H-K1) took TQ on the KeiTune racing track, the host of the upcoming JMRCA All Japan National Championship. In the final Yuichi could not take an advantage of the pole position as he ran into engine trouble that forced him to retire making way for KM team mate Hung Cheung Hang (KM H-K1) who on two laps ahead of Hidekazu Takaishi (Kyosho R4) and Ryuji Noguchi (Mugen MTX4). …beat out Lutz for 2nd place by .5 seconds. Dustin Evans was looking to wrap up the overall TQ for 2wd Modified but it was Jared Tebo playing spoiler. Tebo was fast out of the gate, giving up the lead for a few mid-race laps to the TLR22 of Evans but one brush with a pipe sent Dustin on his lid. Tebo was driving his RB5 through the sweeper on two wheels, but he hung on to take the win by 1-second, keeping his hopes alive for TQ honors. The TRC Racing Track hold the first round of the Hong Kong selection race series for the 2012 IFMAR World Championships in Thailand. Hung Cheung Hang (H-K1) was able to take TQ after four rounds of qualifying, also pulling the only 29 lap run during qualification. Luk Chi Hung took the second place on the grid with Samuel Chiu and Poon Chiu in third and fourth place respectively. The final saw a battle between eight sponsor drivers and two KM fans with their H-K1. Hang lead right away from the beginning until the end of the 30 minutes long final….

The first round of the Hong Kong & Macau Selection Race for the 2012 KM World Cup took place last weekend at the ACO Racing track. Qualifying had to be halted after two rounds due to a heavy downpour but not before KM Group Development Dept. Manager & H-K1 designer Hung Cheung Hang was leading away and made the best lap of the qualify round with 23.133 sec and the only 26 lap run, where the second car was the Shepherd team driver Michael with 25 laps and 23.453 sec best time.
