Kelsall takes the 200mm win in Rd2
Last weekend it was the turn of the 200mm boys to race at the Mendip track after the 1/8th scale racers had their turn 2 weeks previous. The race saw a close battle between Kyosho racer Ben Kelsall and this months Spanish EFRA GP winner Darren Johnson, racing for Team Magic. In qualifying it was Darren that claimed the pole position spot, 4 seconds in front of Kelsall with Mugen racer Gareth Bell in 3rd, with the top 16 positions covered by 1 lap. In the race it was again a battle between the top 2 with a mistake from Kelsall while passing a back marker allowing Darren into lead which he held until his car stalled at his final fuel stop which allowed Ben through for the win with Johnson 1 second back in 2nd and closing, while Steve Brown rounded off the top 3.
