Xray have released this new optional lightweight 2-speed layshaft for the NT1 200mm chassis. For serious racers that are conscious of weight savings, the shaft has been precision ground, heat-treated and polished for smooth operation, extra strength, and long life, and has been strategically lightened by 50% compared to the standard 2-speed layshaft. Rotating mass is reduced without sacrificing strength or durability.

With the first issue of the newly updated magazine going on sale, we were asked to remind everyone that RC Car Racer, one of the most popular R/C Car magazines in Germany and one of our print partners, has evolved into the all-new RC Car Racer & Fun.
As most of you might know RC Car Racer is the most popular RC Car magazine in the UK and since February 2005 it has had a German “sister magazine” for the German language market in Europe. Being in its fourth year now the publishers of RC Car Racer thought that it might be the right time for a slight tweak in the name of RC Car Racer in Germany and becomes the all-new RC Car Racer & Fun. With this re-branding ADH Publishing hope that the new look cover will appeal to many more readers who perhaps had previously thought that Racer was just about racing. The format will be changed for Germany and will have even higher quality paper, larger print and features aimed at all levels of Radio Control Car interests ranging from entry level to high competition cars as well as nitro and electric rides. It is planned that each and every issue we will have a cover mounted gift like sticker sheets or DVD’s for an even higher value for the reader. Team Titan have released a full set of pinion gears for the clutch of the Kyosho Evolva 2007 & M3. Made from hard coated, high quality 7075-T6 aluminium they are available in 17T and 16T for the first gear and 21T and 20T for the second gear and are said to last twice the time as the original pinions.

The Spanish EP Touring car Nationals got under way at the weekend at the Villa Real track in the South East of the country, the same venue that will play host to this years European Championships that begins at the end of July. Qualifying for the race saw Toni Mateo take the pole position from Erik Fernandez in 2nd and Gonzalo Garcia in 3rd. In the triple mains it was 4th placed qualifier Marc Esbri Vilar that struck first, taking the win the leg 1 from Toni Mateo, but the Mateo fought back in the 2nd and 3rd leg to take the win in both and with it claim the overall. Marc backed up his win in Leg 1 with 2 second places and claimed the runner up spot ahead of eventual 3rd placed driver Erik Fernandez.

A brief report from the 2nd round of the French Classique Nationals for 1/8th scale flat pan chassis’ that was held at the MACN circuit in Nantes. The race was won by DXF racer Gilles Garrigou ahead of the current French National Champion Bruno Petiot in 2nd also with a DXF, while in the 3rd spot was the DXF designer Marc Dellunto rounding out the podium in 3rd.
More National Championships starting up over the weekend, this time it was the turn of the Belgian 1/8th scale series to get started. Running at the narrow and technical Houthalen curcuit, the racers had dry weather on Saturday for testing, but rain on Sunday meant that everyone had to waterpoof their cars and put on their rain tires and after qualifying it was Kyosho driver Gunther Van Staey that took the pole from Serpent driver D’Hondt in 2nd. In the final, Robin could get into the lead just after the start and thanks to saving his wet weather tyres during qualifying he had the grip to pull out a lead of 4 laps by the end of the 30 minute race from Van Staey in 2nd and Mugen driver Michel Bourgeois in 3rd.
