VRC V4 Professional – RC Speedway
The 3rd in our monthly columns from VRC mentions that the new v4 RC Speedway has been completed and has turned out to be a real show case for VRC. The track is setting a new standard in r/c racing with its new features such as the electronic track banners and the massive scoreboard. Permission has been granted by Virtura officials for exclusive use of the large bill board on the fly-over of the motorway for product advertising of VRC partners. The banked corner has new entry and exit profiles for smoother and thus better racing. Special developed asphalt has been used to create maximum grip and low tire wear conditions. Tony West, responsible for the design of the VRC World complex and the tracks, has paid special attention to wider run off areas on turns 1 and 2 and around the perimeter to make the track more forgiving. Furthermore the inside curbs, known from the old oval to be responsible for the car spinning out unexpectedly in the fast sweepers, are no longer applied.

The sunken pit area is below track level for easier and faster pit action. The drivers stand gives an uninterrupted view on the track from all positions (yes in v4 you can choose your own preferred position on the drivers stand…). The track is fully floodlighted to enable 24/7 racing necessary to accommodate the thousands of racers from all over the world expected to visit this exciting on-road track. Besides 1:8 and 1:10 nitro racing, the RC Speedway will also be available for 1:10 electric sedan racing.
With the RC Speedway completed, work is now shifting to the indoor electric carpet track in Building Nbr. 4 and the parking lot area in front of the VRC Head Quarters. More on this in the next report.
