Antenna Heads – Sanwa M11DSSS & MX-3FHSS
M11DSSS
Although still modern looking the Sanwa M11 is a bit of an old school item as it features two antennas. Why? Because it is still an adapted conversion and no “real” 2.4GHz radio like MX-3. But that not always is a bad thing as it offers you the possibility to use a crystal type transmitter module and receiver in case you want or need to.
As mentioned before the M1DSSS is a “Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum” radio which means that, after you switch the transmitter on, the module searches for a free frequency in the 2.4GHz range assigning this frequency for your transmitter only until you switch your radio off. Remaining “static” and only transmitting with 10mW instead of up to 100mW like the FHSS radios are the main differences between the two common 2.4GHz technologies DSSS and FHSS.
The Sanwa M11 radio is around in the scene for some time now and doesn’t need a further introduction we think. Its software capabilities are nearly endless and offer the aforementioned MX-3 features plus helpful gizmos like Steering Speed, Anti Lock Brake, Traction Control, different mixing options, Stopwatch and other features that suit all types of classes from electric to nitro, micro to big scale racing!
