Western Australian F1 RC series rd2
Round 2 of the Western Australian Formula 1 RC series, sponsored by Ryper Hobbies, went north of Perth to the PRECC indoor track in Midland. With a change of surface from outdoor asphalt to indoor carpet, as well as no traction additive being permitted, it was shaping up to be a very open meet. Drivers scrambled to find the best set up without the aid of traction compound, and laptimes slowly dropped during practice.
Qualifying in the WAF1RC is based on the fastest single lap driven by drivers, over all of the qualifying rounds. The three fastest drivers were:
1. Luke Carson
2. Keri MacDonald
3. Daniel Kinson
The top three qualifiers carried their form into the two finals. Luke, Keri and Daniel managed to stay clear of the rest of the field and the final results matched the starting line up, with Luke Carson in first, Keri MacDonald second, and Daniel Kinson third. With round two completed, Keri’s second place keeps him in the number one position for the Series with 18 points, with Luke and Daniel Kinson tied for second on 15 points.
