Lloyd wins Winter warm up

Silverstone RCMCC hosted the warm up for the British Winter Open Championship a couple of weekends ago. This gave racers the opportunity to get some practice in for the BWOC which is due to take place on the weekend of 11th and 12th February 2012. There was a good turnout of drivers for the 2wd, 4wd and shortcourse classes and they were greeted with a flowing track with a mixture of carpet with slippy sections and some challenging jumps to test the drivers. With Lloyd Storey and Danny McGee taking two round wins each in qualifying out of the fours rounds, Danny took TQ honours in the 2wd class by virtue of the faster overall time.  Lloyd lined up second on the grid with Ellis Stafford in 3rd. A close fought final with some clean racing and Lloyd took the win with his Cougar SV. Tony Truman crossed the line less than a second behind with Danny McGee took 3rd.
