Kyle Branson wins Rd5 of British 1/8th Nats

The fifth round of the 2012 national championship was a second visit to the Adur club, situated at Shoreham recreation ground to the west of Brighton. The original round 5 fixture was scheduled for the Halifax track but due to adverse weather conditions, the track was 1m under water due a local river bursting its banks for the second time within the last 4 years. Therefore with the previous round rescheduled for later on in the season, this race became the 5th meeting. With this race track being the smallest of all in the UK, it was a surprise to see 40 + drivers in attendance based upon previous meetings at this track. The Track is very technical with good rotation and turn in, the main criteria to produce quick and consistent lap times.

Cardoso & Miguel win Portuguese Cup

The Annual Portuguese Cup took place at the track of Maiorca last weekend, close to the city beach of Figueira da Foz in nice warm and sunny weather. The track has a very fast but non forgiving layout, you must always be focused and never lose speed. The stock class was a one man show, with Fernando Cardoso driving his Nosram powered Schumacher TQ’ing and winning the event with awesome driving and performance. In the modified class it was a totally different story. There were many good runs from all the drivers and in the last main 3 drivers still had the chance to take the overall race win. João Miguel Martinho with his Yokomo/LRP took a fine win, the result of error free driving.

Xray T3 progressive springs

Available for the T3, Xray’s new progressive springs marked 2.2–2.6 are soft at the beginning of the compression, similar to hardness 2.2, but become harder as the spring is compressed more in the middle, with hardness 2.6 at the end. Black color and laser engraved for easy identification. Available as a pair, the springs are individually measured, controlled, inspected and matched to provide identical damping characteristics. During the selection process, each spring is compressed in several fine increments and the values are recorded. Each spring is then matched with another spring of identical characteristics.

Wouter Wynen joins X Factory team

X Factory announces that Wouter Wynen, recent winner of the Belgian GP, has signed to drive the American company’s unique products through the end of 2013. “I’m so happy to have Wouter on the Team at last,” said company spokesman Chazz Sinclair. “He has been a top competitor in the BeNeLux series and all over Europe for many years, and we are glad to have his knowledge and experience working for us.  We have wanted him to join us for more than a year, and expect him to be a great help developing and testing new products.” Wynen said,

I tested several different cars this spring in preparation for the BeNeLux series and the GP, both mid-motor and rear-, on both astro and dirt.  The X-6 Squared is not the newest of them, but is clearly fastest on all surfaces. Smooth and collected, very easy to control, especially in corners and over bumps. I was truly amazed at the difference.
