John Ermen wins Dutch on-road nationals Rd3
Last weekend the 3rd round of the Dutch nationals was held on the fast Baanbrakers track in Rucphen. Although the weather forecast predicted showers the contenders finally had warm and sunny weather. In the first round of the NK class it was Gunther v. Staey setting the pace with a 24 lap run and a 7 second gap on local hero John Ermen. He also scored a blistering 12.3s as fastest laptime. Gunther decided to spare his equipment by not driving the other 2 qualification rounds. At the end the four fastest drivers were the only ones with a 24 lap qualification. The fastest was Robing d’Hondt followed by Gunther v. Steay, Sefan Cuypers and John Ermen.
After two exciting semi finals it was Robin d’Hondt taking the pole position in the main final with John Ermen right behind him. All drivers had a clear start and raced a beautiful final. John made a small mistake some laps after the start and needed to be marshalled but he showed he knows his home track best and after a couple of sprint laps he took the win followed by Robin d’Hondt and RickV.

In the NOMAC class the pace was set with a 22 lap run in qualification by Patrick Vannieuwenhuyse. After three rounds it was Cedric Dewynants taking the fastest time followed by Patrick Vannieuwenhuyse, Ingeborg Gommers and Ad Vissenberg, all with a 22 lap qualification. After two semi finals it was Patrick Vannieuwenhuyse taking the pole for the main final with Cedric Dewynants right behind him. Patrick had a clean start into the final followed by Cedric who faced some problems and had to retire. Ingeborg Gommers took the second spot and was close behind Patrick. At the end it was Patrick who took the win followed by Ingeborg and Ad Vissenberg.
