Martin Bayer wins 2013 German Nitro Buggy nats
The second and final round of the German 1/8th Nitro Buggy national championship was held in Bischofsheim near Frankfurt this past weekend. The track will be the host of next year’s European Championship A so the race not only was important for the national championship but also used as preparation for the 2014 Euro. After the rain affected qualifiers Xray’s Martin Bayer took the overall TQ for Sunday’s finals. From the tone Martin was fighting for the lead with Jörn Neumann, Carsten Keller and Daniel Reckward and around the 15 minute mark he was able to build a gap on the field that Martin was able to hold until the finish line. By winning the second and final round the Xray driver also took the overall win. The podium of the Bischofsheim round was completed by Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann and Carsten Keller (Kyosho). The runner-up spot also secured Jörn the second place overall with TLR’s Marcel Guske rounding out the 2013 Top 3.
