Mibosport Cup 2013/14 Rd2 – Report
After a one month break the second round of the Mibosport Cup 2013/14 was held in Hrotovice last weekend. A total of 128 drivers signed up for the event with 70 drivers attending in the on-road and 58 in the off-road classes. The touring car modified class was quite a balanced affair. Kuba Šimurda (Xray) took TQ with Radek Flek (Yokomo) sitting only 6/10th behind him. Young Polish driver, Michal Orlowski (Team Durango) came in third. All of the three A-finals then had exactly the same scenario, Kuba Šimurda had brilliant starts and was facing the pressure of Radek Flek and Michal Orlowski in every leg. In the end, he was only controlling his rivals behind him and won all three A-finals. Radek Flek scored two second places handing him the overall second place followed by Michal Orlowski.
The fastest man in touring car Stock LRP, the class with the highest number of drivers, was David Nemček (Xray). In second came Blazej Orlowski who was almost 2 seconds behind Nemček. The third place on the grid belonged to Michal Němeček. After two finals, Nemček and Němeček both scored a win so the third A-final would be the decisive run for the two. Unfortunately two minutes into the final Michal Němeček had to retire handing David the win. Michal came in second overall with Blazej Orlowski completing the podium.
In the Yokomo GT class, Igor Vlahovič and Ladislav Mlčák did not get involved in this race making way for other drivers to climb on the podium. Therefore Tomáš Kembitzký took TQ in front of Patrik Dworschak with Markéta Vítámvásová completing the top 3. In the finals Tomáš Kembitzký dominated all legs and ended up right ahead of Patrik Dworschak and Markéta Vítámvásová.
The F1 class was, more or less, an Austrian thing and the drivers finished the race in qualifying order handing Herbert Weber the win in front of Martin Szunyogh and Thomas Bauer.
A total of 27 drivers participated in the 2WD buggy class. Jiří Mára gained the TQ right ahead of Michal Orlowski and Martin Bayer. The first A-final was won by Michal Orlowski with Martin Bayer and Jiří Mára behind. In the second A-final, Martin Bayer was leading but had to retire due to technical problems. The win was taken by Jiří Mára ahead of Michal Orlowski. The third and decisive final was quite a dramatic leg, won by Martin Bayer ahead of Michal Orlowski and Jiří Mára in third. The overall winner therefore was Michal Orlowski (Team Durango), Martin Bayer (Xray) ended up in the second place and the podium was completed by Jiří Mára (Xray).
The 4WD class was all about the battle of the Bayer brothers, Aleš and Martin. In qualifying Martin took TQ ahead of Aleš and Jiří Mára. In all three finals Martin and Aleš Bayer immediately opened a gap pulling away from the field. The first final went to Martin with Aleš in second. Jiří Mára came in third. In the second final, Martin Bayer had to retire after 3 minutes, so Aleš took the victory. Unfortunately Jiří Mára was not able to attend the third A-final due to technical problems meaning the battle was on between the Bayer brothers. At the end of an exciting race Martin took the victory ahead of Aleš. The overall standing then had Martin Bayer taking the win in front of his Xray teammates Aleš Bayer and Jiří Mára. The next Mibosport Cup races will take place on the 14th and 28th of December.
