Schumacher Cougar KF 2WD buggy
Schumacher introduce their latest 1/10 2WD buggy kit in the form of the Cougar KF. Seen in prototype stages before the buggy is specially designed for the use on high grip surfaces such as carpet and astro turf. It builds on a 2.5mm carbon fibre main chassis and top deck and features an unconventional drivetrain setup with a traversal mid motor position and a rear belt drivetrain. The central motor layout is meant to offer exceptional corner speed on high grip surfaces without having to worry about the negative “torque steering” influences often associated with longitudinally mounted motors.
The buggy comes with a handful of new features such as front and rear protective shock tower covers, optional shorty or saddle pack battery layout, an optional steel front skid plate and a unique motor clamp to fine-tune weight distribution. Other features include 12mm wheel hex adapters, long front wishbones, easy belt tension adjustment, 4mm shock brackets, twin vented slipper plates and a gear differential. The original prototype cars were unexpectedly used at the recent IFMAR World Championships and had top 10 runs against the Worlds best. The car also TQ’ed the opening round of the EOS with Tom Cockerill at the sticks. Expect the kit to hit the stores very soon.
