Dutch electric on-road nationals Rd1 – Report
The first round of the Dutch electric on-road nationals was held last weekend at the RC-Hotwheels track in Deventer. Practice on Saturday took place under the best possible weather conditions but overnight rain washed away the grip and coming the first qualifying round the track was still damp. Soon after the first round was completed, the heaven opened its gates again causing the racing action to come to a halt. In the Touring Car Modified class the TQ then went to Rob Jansen (Tamiya) followed by Jetse Reitsma (Spec-R) and Ronald Arts (Tamiya). The Stock class had Jitse Miedema taking TQ in front of his Xray fellows Bram Lagerwey and Steven Koiter.
At the start of the finales the track was still wet due to constant rain. The Modified class saw a clean sweep by Mitchell van Es (Schumacher) who took undefeated wins in all legs. The Tamiya duo of Niek Middelkoop and Rob Jansen completed the top 3 result.
The Stock class also had its dominating driver in the form of Robert Krens (Schumacher) to won all three finals from Martijn van der Heiden (Yokomo). Mike Balfoort (Tamiya) rounded out the podium. Elswhere in the supporting pan car classes Reinder Wilms, Mathijs Hermens and Sacha Kennartz made the Pro10 podium while Ben Looijen, Eric Mulder and Angelo Prins made the top 3 in the Formula 1 class.
Thanks to Robert Krens for sending the report.
