Van Iperen & Arents win at wet Dutch nationals Rd2
Last weekend the Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals had their 2nd round run at the REAL80 track in Groningen. Despite the wet weather all weekend 39 drivers attended. After 3 rain soaked qualification rounds it was John Lenaers and John Ermen who took the pole of the NK class semi finals. After the semi finals there was an interesting drivers list for the main final, as both John’s were not able to reach the final. The main itself then did look more like a battlefield. Heavy showers made for huge puddles on the track which were almost impossible to drive through but the battle for the podium went on despite many stalling engines. Finally it was Jeroen van Iperen who took the win followed by Tjibbe Keller and Ad Vissenberg.
Final result:
1. Jeroen Van Iperen
2. Tjibbe Keller
3. Ad Vissenberg
4. Gunther van Steay
5. Arie Manten
6. Roelof Tooms
7. Martin Zevenhoven
8. Peter Ende
9. Marcel Schouten
10.Danny Leewis
In the NOMAC class it was Stanley Bauer and Wouter Satijn taking the pole of the semi finals but also these 2 drivers were not able to reach the main. After the 30 minute final it was Ad Arents taking the win, he was followed by Rene van Dijk and Benny Ciere.
The final result:
1. Ad Arents
2. Rene van Dijk
3. Benny Ciere
4. Mark Vandenberk
5. Peter van Marion
6. Koen Geurds
7. Emiel Jansen
8. Peter Berkhout
