ElectroChamps 2014 – Report
The biggest Greek electric off-road race of the year was held at the Fanatix racing track in the Northern suburbs of Athens. The event saw 2WD buggy racing on Saturday and the 4WD buggy and SC classes on Sunday with over 50 entries in total and the appearance of Team Associated factory team driver Peter Pinisch from Austria. Peter then dominated the 2WD class on Saturday, smashing the track’s lap record and winning the race in front of Vassilis Bournias (Schumacher) and Dimitris Fotinos on a close 3rd (Kyosho).
In Sunday’s 4WD race Peter again excelled, this time with his Team Associated B44.2. Fotinos (Kyosho) and Bournias (Hot Bodies) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Short Course class had last year’s runner up Dionisis Sikianakis (Team C) showing some serious speed compared to the rest of the field, easily taking the first place with Konstantinos Ziakas (Team Associated) and George Mouzouris finishing in 2nd and 3rd.
