Tom Cockerill doubles at Petit RC Race
The 9th running of the PetitRC Race was held in Terrugum, Portugal with drivers from the UK, Poland, Holland, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal in attendance. The track was a permanently laid outdoor Astroturf track, with plenty of jumps and a good flow, which made for some great close racing. The event format was for free practice on Friday with the 2WDs being run on Saturday and 4WD on Sunday, allowing plenty of track time for all the drivers.
2WD qualifying was lead by Tom Cockerill (Schumacher), taking TQ followed by Fábio Ramos (Team C) and David Poulter (Schumacher) completing the top three. After the triple leg finals the top 3 would remain in qualifying position with Tom taking the win. 4WD qualifying would see Nuno Roque (Team Durango) find form to take TQ, followed by David Poulter (Schumacher) and Fábio Ramos (Team C) completing the top 3. The finals would see some very close racing in all three legs. Ultimately it was Tom Cockerill (Schumacher) who, coming through from 4th on the grid, took the win, followed by Nuno and David.
