Exotek D413 steering rack, wheel hexes & spur gears
Exotek have new option parts for the Hot Bodies D413 buggy available in the form of an aluminium steering rack, 12mm clamping wheel hex adapters and spur gears with an aluminium mounting plate. Starting with the steering rack, the part is CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium and it is orange anodised to match the remainder of Exotek’s D413 options. Included with the rack come four ball bearings, two shims and hardware and the part allows to set the same bump steer and Ackermann settings as the stock rack.
Also new are 12mm rear clamping type wheel hex adapters. They replace the stock floating pin design to make sure all parts stay in place even with the wheels off. Included with the factory orange anodised aluminium parts come 1.6mm hard steel pins and 2mm screws. Last but not last is a machined 72 teeth main gear with a machined aluminium mounting plate. The much stronger machined delrin spur gear does not flex like the stock part, reducing the chance of stripping a gear. Included is a machined 7075 aluminium mounting plate and the 2-piece design makes for easier spur gear changes as it is not necessary to open the gear diff and remove outdrives with the updated design. On top of that the alloy mounting plate provides cooling of the diff fluid for more consistent diff action. A 72 teeth spur gear is included and there is also a 68 teeth spur gear available separately for stock spec class gearing.
