WRC Contest Italy – Report

The WRC Contest Italy was held at Mini Racing Chiasso in Faloppio, Italy this past weekend in several electric on-road classes including Touring Car, Pro10, 1/12th scale and Formula. The Touring Car Stock category was the premier class at the event and it was won by Markus Streuli from Nicola Di Palma and Antonino Mangiaracina.

The Pro10 category was dominated by experienced 1/8th driver Luca Martinelli who set the pace right from the start. He not only took the TQ but also the overall win and he set the fastest lap to leave Filo Botti and Andrea Tonini behind in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the 1/12th scale class Mattia Pesenti grabbed the overall TQ thanks to a very clean and fast run in the third qualifier. During the finals he tried to push in order to win the race, but experienced 1/12th racer Bui Khoumy ultimately won the race in front of Mattia in 2nd spot with Erol Sehirtoy coming in 3rd.

In the Formula class Daniel Ghirlanda took quite an easy win but behind him the race was on between Luca Martinelli and Andrea Valerio with the better end for Luca who brought home the runner-up spot from Andrea.
