Kyosho Syncro EX-6 Mini-Z radio system
Kyosho America have announced first details on their all-new Syncro EX-6 Mini-Z radio system. The newest and most advanced radio ever built for use with the Mini-Z cars from Kyosho is based on the EX-2 radio system just introduced by KO Propo. It takes advantage of the “KIY” (Kustomize It Yourself) system that allows modular expansion and modification of the radio system, and it has a new ultra-fast hybrid mode that is faster than any system currently available. The Syncro EX-6 features a high level of adjustability via precision digital settings that remain stored in the radio’s memory. Most of the settings are adjusted via the two-position LCD display, which can display data in line with the radio for more conventional viewing, or it can be rotated to a transverse position, which makes it easier to view settings and data from the side of the radio.
Apart from its wide range of settings, the precise control it offers, and the legendary quality of KO Propo electronics as a calling card, the EX-6 also has a newly developed protocol called “MHS” (Mini-Z Hybrid Spread Spectrum System) that has a response time that’s four times faster than the ASF systems currently used by other high-end mini-Z chassis. The only car that currently is compatible with the MHS protocol is the Mini-Z Racer Pro MR-03 VE being released at the same time as the radio. The EX-6 is also with cars using the ASF protocol, so of it will be compatible with any of the previous model high-performance Mini-Z models (not Sports models). One additional advantage with the MHS protocol is it allows the transmitter to bind with the receiver very quickly. ASF systems take a little longer to bind in an environment where there’s a lot of radio traffic. The MHS system binds quickly regardless of the conditions.
The EX-6 uses KO Propo’s patented K.I.Y. system, which means this radio is compatible with a number of accessories, but you can also get an optional FHSS master unit and a receiver to operate other RC cars in your fleet in addition to the Mini-Z. A number of grips, battery holders, drop-wheel adapters and other accessories are already available. The radio will become available in July.
