Tessmann doubles at S-Workz Challenge
The recent S-Workz Challenge was held at the beautiful Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, CA. Being one of the most amazing RC facilities in the world, A Main Hobbies and Kevin Jelich did an awesome job in preparing the facility and the track with the event attracting over 200 entries as it was also the ROAR Nationals Warm-Up race. The track surface itself was prepared in a way that gave the track its own unique personality, although the surface was very smooth it was very abrasive and traction varied from medium to high grip. Friday was open practice which allowed the drivers to getting dialed into the track and surface. Saturday was 3 rounds of qualifying and it was HB’s Ty Tessmann who took the TQ honors in both Pro Buggy and Pro Truck.
Sunday the mains were run, with the Buggy main coming first. Even though Ty started on pole, Drew Moller (HB) and Ryan Lutz (Tekno) would make the race very interesting, both of them taking over the lead at different points of the race, but in the end Ty was able to make a gap and take the win in the 45-minute A-main. The Truggy main then went considerably better for Ty who was able to slowly pull away from the pack and take the win from Drew and Ryan as he did in Buggy.
