Carlos Peracho wins Spanish Nats Rd3
Last weekend the third round of the Spanish 1/8th On-road Championship was held at the Cavi Club track in Vigo. Thanks to excellent weather conditions, everybody had a great practice day on Friday. Saturday started with some rain but just in time for the qualifiers the track dried up. Carlos Peracho dominated the qualification and also set a new track record in the progress. Nacho Lopez ended the qualification in second place while Alberto Alonso rounded out the top 3.
In the semi finals Carlos and Alberto showed another great performance, resulting in the pole position for the main final for Carlos and the 2 spot on the grid for Alberto. At the start of the main final Peracho suffered from an engine flame out and he had to start from the pits and this allowed Alonso and Lopez to pull away from the field. Carlos Peracho pushed his car to the limit, set another new track record and finally gained the lead after 15 minutes. Later also Alonso had an engine flame out during the race which cost him some time. At the end of the 45 minute final Peracho took the win in front of Otero in second and Alonso in third. With his podium finish, Alonso also took the 2015 overall Spanish Championship title.
