Maifield & Cavalieri dominate HRH Shootout
The annual Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout was held in Saugus, California this past weekend. Qualifying was affected by rain and so only two out of two rounds would count, handing Jared Tebo the TQ in the premier class of 2WD Modified. Ryan Maifield took the pole position for the triple A-mains in the 4WD Modified Buggy class while Ryan Cavalieri dominated the 2WD Modified Truck classes by ending the qualifiers on top of the result sheets in 2WD Modified Truck and 2WD Modified Short Course. In the 2WD Mod Buggy A-mains Ryan Maifield (TLR) would come out successful winning A-main 1 and A-main 2 in style. TQ Jared Tebo (Kyosho) had a mixed mains and finished in 3rd overall while Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri grabbed the runner-up spot.
In the 4WD Modified class the opening A-main was won by Ty Tessmann (HB) from TQ Ryan Maifield (TLR) who stroke back in A2 with a win from Naoto Matsukura (Kyosho) as Ty Tessmann only finished on the 8th spot. Ultimately Ryan grabbed himself the second title of the weekend with a win from Naoto and Ty.
2WD Modified Truck had TQ Ryan Cavalieri (Team Associated) defending his position from team mate Steven Hartson in 2nd. TLR’s Dustin Evans rounded out the top 3 result.
