ROAR 1/8th Electric Offroad & 1/10th SC Nats – Report
The 2015 ROAR 1/10 4×4 SC and 1/8 Electric Offroad Nationals were held this past weekend at Lost Creek R/C Raceway in Oakland Mills, Pennsylvania. This year’s track at LCRC would put every manufacturer’s electronics to the extreme test with a very hi-speed layout and hot/humid temperatures while the event would record its largest entry count in history reaching an impressive 211!. The race schedule saw controlled practice on Thursday, two rounds of qualifying each on Friday and Sunday followed by the main events with triple A-mains on Sunday. In the 1/8 Electric Buggy qualifying Ryan Maifield would TQ two rounds to lock-up the overall TQ. The triple A-Mains for the 1/8 Electric Buggy class would be 10-Minutes each. Maifield was a man on a mission showing tremendous speed in both A-Main 1 and 2 by taking the wins in each to take the overall win and his first ROAR National Championship of the weekend. Dakotah Phend would go onto win A-Main 3 in style to secure 2nd overall.

Ryan Maifield would also TQ 2 rounds of 1/8 Electric Truggy to secure the overall TQ. The triple A-Mains for the 1/8 Electric Truggy class would be 8 minutes each. Dakotah Phend would lay down a perfect run to take the win in A-Main 1 and then Maifield would answer back to win A-Main 2 and force the ROAR National Championship to the 3rd and final A-Main. Maifield and Phend would battle it out for the entire 8 minutes and Maifield would cross the finish line 1st just ahead of Phend by only a car length to win his second ROAR National Championship of the weekend.

In 4×4 Modified Short Course Dakotah Phend and Ryan Maifield would both TQ two rounds of qualifying each and Phend would just edge out Maifield for the overall TQ after the tie-breaker was calculated. The triple A-Mains for the 4×4 Modified Short Course class would be 6 minutes each. Phend would go onto win A-Main 1 and A-Main 2 after having great battles with Maifield in both. Maifield would then dominate A-Main 3 to secure the 2nd overall position.
