Drake & Lutz win at JBRL Nitro Series Rd5
This past weekend was round five of the JBRL Nitro Series at Heritage R/C Park in Chula Vista, CA. The nearly 200 entries made for a long day, but the racing was great with a number of talented drivers in attendance. Adam Drake (Mugen) took the qualifier honors in the Expert Nitro Buggy class by almost 4 seconds. In the final, Drake got a good start and controlled the race from start to finish taking the win by a comfortable margin over Kody Numedahl (Team Associated) and Ryan Lutz (Tekno).
In the 1/8th Nitro Truck class, Ryan Lutz (Tekno) was the top qualifier. In the final Lutz and Drake had a close battle and in the end Lutz was able to take the win by a few seconds over Adam Drake (Mugen), while Kody Numedahl (Team Associated) finished third. In the Expert E-Buggy class Mugen’s Steve Harris was the top qualifier. However Mugen team mate Adam Drake was able to take the lead early in the 10 minute final after a few mistakes by Lutz and Harris. Drake controlled the race and took the win by nearly 10 seconds from Ryan Lutz (Tekno) and Steve Harris.
