Tanner Day double in Stock at 2015 ROAR Nats
The 2015 ROAR 1/10 Electric Off-Road Nationals were held this past weekend at SRS/Hobby-Town USA Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s very well known around the country that the stock racing scene in Arizona has always been very competitive and this year would prove not to be different. Kyosho would roll into this years ROAR Nationals with 2 of there best stock drivers in hopes of taking home a ROAR National Championship! From Damascus, Oregon Kyosho’s young talent Tanner Day has been making a name for himself up in the North-West. Day who has only been competitively racing for a few years made his way down to Arizona with his Mom & Dad to take his chances against the best stock drivers in the nation. From Orange County, California Kyosho’s Jason Dias has proven to always be a threat in the Stock ranks and would roll into Arizona with high hopes.
In 2wd Stock Buggy Kyosho America’s Tanner Day would go onto TQ rounds 1 & 4 to secure the overall TQ honors in the highly competitive 2wd Stock Buggy class. Tanner then went onto dominate A-Main 1 & A-Main 2 with his Team Orion/Schurr Speed powered Kyosho RB6 to take home his 1st ROAR National Championship of the weekend ahead of the Associated pairing of Kyle Layton and Brendan Wheatley
In the 2wd Stock Short Course class Tanner Day would set the tone early by taking the TQ’s in rounds 1 & 2 of qualifying. This would prove to be enough for the overall TQ in the 2wd Stock Short Course class. Tanner would go onto take the convincing Win in A-Main 1 while leading every lap. In A-Main 2, Tanner battled back from a rough start and was able to work his way back up to a mid pack finish. The Championship would come down to the 3rd and final A-Main. T-Day was on a mission as he got the hole-shot from his TQ starting position and set a fast and consistent pace. Tanner was able to pull away from the field and cruise home for his 2nd ROAR National Championship of the weekend. X-Factory driver Alex Krieg would take the runner up spot with Kyosho’s Jason Dias able to land his Schurr Speed powered Kyosho SC6 on the podium in 3rd.
