F1ItalianSeries 2015/16 season opener – Report
The opening round of the F1ItalianSeries was held at the MiniAutodromo T5 in Rome. The race also marked the 100th anniversary GP of the series with 30 drivers signing in for the season opener. As a special gift every driver received a helmet painted by A-Paint. For the 2015/16 season former F1ItalianSeries driver Alessandro Tittozzi joined the organising team to support the tech inspection. The race format this time saw the seven fastest drivers to qualify directly for the main GP while the remaining 23 battled for the eight remaining spots in two different mini grand prix. With the qualifying positions also scoring points for the overall championship things got a bit more interesting.
Pre-event favourite Team Ferrari with Magnocavallo and Capuano dominated both the GP1 and GP2 with the 16-minute encounters being very entertaining. Red Bull driver Cutugno came in third in GP1 while Petriagi grabbed a surprising third spot in GP2.
