Hupo Hönigl sweeps Austrian 1/10th Buggy Nationals
The final round of the Austrian 1/10th Electric Off-road National Championship was held at the MRC Oberaich track over the weekend. The track also played host for a round of the 1/8th E-Buggy Nationals so both the track and the jumps were a bit bigger than usual although this did not create huge problems for the drivers. In the 2WD class Serpent’s Hupo Hönigl came out fastest after the qualifiers to take the fourth TQ in a row in this class. In the finals Hupo again made a clean sweep to grab the overall win early and with it the championship title. Peter Pinisch (Schumacher) came in second, Stefan Pfeifhofer rounded out the top 3 result.
In the 4WD class Hupo was struggling a bit as he only qualified in 3rd place behind Peter Pinisch (Schumacher) and Martin Kreil (Team C). In the finals Hupo then held everything together to take wins in A1 and A2 on the way to the overall win and his second championship title of the weekend. Behind him Martin Kreil and Peter Pinisch ended the day in second and third respectively.
