2016 French National Cup – Report
The French National Cup was held this past weekend in Evry near Paris. The French National Cup is one of two annual national outdoor series with the NC being a single race while the French Championship is a 5-race affair. In the Modified category, Cyril N’Diaye obtained the pole position while his teammate Thomas Vigneron, current leader of the French Championship, qualified on the 2 spot. During the opening two finale legs Cyril and Thomas had some tight battles and they finished 1/2 and 2/1 meaning the decision for the overall title would be made in A3. In the third and decisive main Cyril maintained his position to win the race from Thomas Vigneron in second and Hugo Ragaut in third.
In the 10.5T class Alexandre Duchet took the overall win from Steve Favrelle and Arnaud Soulignac in second and third respectively. Finally in the 13.5 class, Hai Long Tran, newly-crowned French National Champion, confirmed his domination in France with a second title. Hai obtained the pole position and the overall win at the French National Cup from Eugene Orer and Briac Berthoud.
