Team Orion HMX 10 Modified brushless speed controller
Following a first teaser image Team Orion have now officially introduced the all-new HMX 10 Modified brushless speed controller. Designed from the ground up the all-new speedo makes use of the HMX technology that was developed by World Champions Team Orion and Nexus Systems, a company that provides high-performance electric motion and propulsion solutions for aerospace and industrial customers. The HMX technology describes the combination of the ESC hardware and an Android and iOS smartphone app that makes it possible to adjust the controller without bulky boxes or devices but only an optical cable (Android) or a Bluetooth dongle (iOS).
The controller makes use of unique power fets for 250A constant and up to 2000A peak current while a 32-bit micro processor allows for extremely fast throttle and brake response. Real-time signal translation further adds to the extremely responsive behaviour of the controller and Dual Cool Mosfet transistors improve heat dissipation, which is further helped by machined air ducts and the 3-piece aluminium case. Furthermore the controller offers a switchable 6V/7.4V BEC system, advanced timing settings with two RPM-based and a Turbo-based timing setting and it features dual sensor ports and a Micro USB connector to easily connect to any Android or iOS mobile device. The HMX technology mobile app is extremely user-friendly, it offers pre-defined profiles, the possibility to download pro driver setups and it also allows to fine-tune and upload own profiles; even in offline mode which enables the driver customise the settings without the need to have the speedo switched on. The adjusted settings can then be uploaded to the controller after the next power up. No word yet on a release date but it is understood that the speedo will become available soon.
