Garland & Vaughn win at Midwest National Series Rd2
Next Level RC in Cambria, Illinois held the second round of the Midwest National Series recently. The track offered lots of challenging elements such as elevation changes, motocross-style jumps and tons of grip. The race format was two 5-minute qualifiers with double 15-minutes, motocross-style mains. The opening Nitro Buggy A-main saw Alex Vaughn having a killer battle with Nate Johnson and Tim Garland with Alex eventually edging out the two for the win. A2 then was a much rougher affair as Alex lead the pack in the final lap when he hit a massive rut which caught him out, but he still managed to take the P2 spot in the main. Overall it was Tim Garland with the win from Alex Vaughn 2nd and Chase Rhinerson 3rd.
Over in Nitro Truggy Alex Vaughn TQ’d round 1 and 2 of the qualifying for the overall TQ and he would also dominate the both A-mains for the overall win in front of Johnathon Shanklin and Repo Southern.
