Schumacher BTCC Rd5 – Report
The final round of the 2018 Schumacher BTCC took place at the weekend at the fabulous new Bedworth venue. Unfortunately the UK weather was not the kindest with a damp track all day on the Sunday. In the Modified class Olly Jefferies showed us why he is BRCA Champion with a comfortable victory from Elliott Harper and Matt White.
In Pro Stock Zak Finlay was pushed hard all day by James Hart, but it was not quite enough as one again this year Zak took it from James with Darren Lee having a strong showing making the podium. 13.5T Blinky saw Marcus Askell take the win from Tony Broad and Alex Brocklebank in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The 17.5T Blinky class had some super close racing all day in the tricky conditions, Malc Hall took the win from Dave Ringsell and Paul Coleman.
A heat of Formula cars graced the BTCC at this round with Ben Cosgrove taking a comfortable victory.
Most of the Championships were decided before racers got to Bedworth however there were some great battles throughout the 5 round championship. Olly Jefferies got his name once again on the Cecil Schumacher trophy. James Hart took the Robin Schumacher Trophy, Marcus Askell the 13.5T Blinky Championship and Adrian Sully winning the 17.5T prize.
