Campionato Costruttori EP Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Italian Campionato Costruttori EP series was held at the Giardini Naxos track in Sicily, home of the 2015 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Championship with the vacility being converted into an asphalt on-road track in the meantime. The series is supported by the Italian ACI automobile club and will in the end award official Italian National titles – one of the reasons the championship already drew a huge number of racers to take part in the opening two rounds. As for the racing, in the Touring Modified category it was Xray driver, Alessio Menicucci who took the win at round 2 ahead of his Xray teammates, Alessio Mazzeo and Francesco Martini.

Serpent driver, Bonomo Salvatore took the win in Touring 13.5 F1. Behind him Andrea Simari (Capricorn) and Roberto Fabiano (Xray) completed the top 3 results. Yari Zanobini (Xray) succeeded in Touring 13.5 F2. Behind him Di Salvo Lorenzo (Xray) and Cristiano Ciarlone (Xray) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Bryan Ferrara (Capricorn) topped off a perfect weekend with a victory in the Formula category, ahead of Simone Pavanello (Fenix Racing) and Renato Bonura.

Finally in the GT category it was Andrea Tonini (Team Associated) with another successful weekend as Tony Simari (Awesomatix) and Daniele Pacini (Tamiya) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The next and final round will take place on the 16th and 17th of November at the MCM RC Indoor circuit in Ciserano.
