Marka Racing Trophy Rd5 – Report

The Miniautodromo S. Messina in Palermo, Sicily held round 5 of the Marka Racing Trophy this past weekend. Nice weather and a perfectly organised race made for a fun and relaxed weekend for the many drivers that attended in the two Touring Modified and a single Formula pan car class. The Touring Stock EFRA 13.5 category saw some entertaining A-mains with three different winners. Ultimately it was Ignazio Caldarella (Awesomatix) with the TQ and win from Sergio Pignataro (Awesomatix) in 2nd and Gabriele Billeci (Xpress) in 3rd. Raffaele Onesti(Awesomatix) made a great recovery in the finals coming from 9th on the grid to finish just outside the podium in 4th.

In the Touring Stock Hobbywing 17.5T class it was Lombardo Nino taking the overall TQ, however it was Antonio Prestigiacomo who drove his Xray to victory ahead of Jack lo Nigro (Awesomatix) and Angelo Catanzaro (Xray).

Finally in the Formula class it was Emilio Cardinale (Roche) taking the overall TQ with Edoardo Ardita (Roche) snatching the final podium spot. The 2nd place went to Cardinale who won a single final, however it was Marco Buccella (Xray) with two A-main wins and the overall win in the A-mains.
