JConcepts Aggressor wheels, Fling King & Renegade tires
JConcepts continue to expand their monster truck line-up with the release of their new Aggressor wheels as well as Fling Kings and Renegade tires. The Aggressor wheel is familiar, on the outside it looks like its successful sibling, the Tribute wheel. However, to accommodate some of today’s trucks, the Aggressor is beefed up starting with thick wall sections throughout the wheel and a reinforced 17mm hex adaptor with a ten-leg bolt pattern that locks and keys into the wheel. To fit many of today’s solid axle and independent suspension monster trucks such as the Losi LMT and Traxxas Maxx, the inside of the wheel is raised to a 3.8” bead mounting diameter. The 2.6” outer bead diameter combined with the 3.8” inner diameter makes the wheel incredibly versatile and can fit to an array of vehicles on the market while still providing that monster truck look. The wheel comes with an optional planetary cover and axle adaptor to fit directly to the popular Traxxas Maxx vehicle and is available in white, black, yellow, and silver colours.
The gnarliest off-road tire is now available for monster trucks. The Fling King created for its popularity in the mud racing game makes an incredibly good tire for the large trucks. In the land of the Megas and Monsters, there is nothing better than a fresh set of deep tread tractor tires. One of the aliases of the mud tires, “Rice and Cane,” refer to the purpose or landscape they were originally designed for within the farming and agriculture industry. The Fling Kings by JConcepts are the first monster truck mud tire, specifically designed to throw mud, dirt, gravel, and grass just like the real thing. The 1:1 tire were hand-cut to produce the most wicked looking tires on the block. The JConcepts tires are uniquely built to replicate a hand-cut set, however, deep tread remains to do the “mega” land damage the drivers and enthusiasts crave.
One of the most impressive details about the Fling Kings, they are designed for the JConcepts 2.6” x 3.8” wheel, making them even more scale in monster truck appearance. No details were spared on these mud runners, the V-type tread is replicated to a T and the top of the tread carries a slight recess adding a little touch of depth to the appearance. Off to the side, the tire lettering hits hard with retro style JConcepts lettering, Fling King logo and crown with #3084-part number for easy identification. The medium-soft “yellow” compound which is recommended for dirt, grass, and asphalt feels noticeably mushy and sticky and has expanding characteristics and tend to “pizza cutter” during flat out high-speed runs. The “gold” compound feels snappier to the touch, excels on polished or hard surfaces, and expands less during high speeds. Fling King tires are complete and include open cell “React” inserts to support the grippy tires. They are also available as premounts in yellow compound on silver Aggressor wheels.
The ultimate monster truck racing tire is now available for a variety of new vehicles on the market. The Renegades named for the hard-core performance design with low-profile racing carcass can now be placed on popular vehicles such as the Losi LMT, Traxxas Maxx, E-Revo and Arrma Kraton. The chevron style lugs has been created with specially designed back-cut tread and shaved carcass areas imitating the real thing. At rotation, the tread still stands tall and provides a hefty edge of forward grip in a variety of conditions. The back-cut section provides a small transition during high-speed corning which conform to changing terrain and obstacles. The sidewalls have been treated with wording, designs, and descriptions consistent with 1:1 tire during that generation of performance. The low-profile stance of the Renegades stays very flat during race course competition, speed-runs, or general use. The tire carcass profile holds the weight extremely low while the design of the tire beads allows just the right amount of contact patch for gluing and application. The Renegades measure in at ~4.0” W x 6.2”H and are available in two different compounds.
