RC Vision announce two STEM milestones

RC Vision, a leading organisation promoting STEM education and diversity and inclusion through radio control car racing, has announced two major milestones in its development. The first is the start of RC Vision’s first grant-funded STEM engagement program, beginning in March and funded by the Great Western Railways Community Fund. The program will engage 80 young people from Hillingdon in RC workshop days involving an introduction to race engineering. Working alongside young professional engineers from the rail industry, the young people, referred to RC Vision by the local authorities’ youth development team, will learn about vehicle dynamics and race car set-up and the similarity between the skills required and jobs in engineering. “This program represents a significant milestone for RC Vision,” said Andy Hyde, founder of RC Vision. “We’re excited to work with the Great Western Railways Community Fund to provide valuable STEM education and career opportunities to young people and to promote the critical importance of diversity and inclusion in the engineering and motorsports industries.”

The second milestone is RC Vision’s first public sector contract as part of the Department for Education’s Healthy Active Food school holidays program. The programme supports children entitled to free school meals by providing funded activities alongside nutritional meals during the Easter school holiday. “Our involvement in the DFE’s Healthy Active Food school holidays programme is a significant step for RC Vision,” said Hyde. “We’re proud to partner with local government to provide valuable educational and nutritional opportunities to children from underserved communities. And, if our first delivery is successful, this could be a massive development path for reaching young people across the county.” RC Vision continues to develop innovative educational programming and promote diversity and inclusion through radio control car racing to further the mission of providing STEM education opportunities and advocating for equitable access to STEM education.
